Kat I hope these don't have to be debut novels in 2017 as I read Red Queen (Red Queen, #1) by Victoria Aveyard Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. I absolutely loved this book, and I can not wait to read other novels by this author.

Natália Lopes (silkcaramel) Cruel Beauty (Cruel Beauty Universe, #1) by Rosamund Hodge
And Rosamund Hodge did it again! I think by this point I'll read anything she writes. This was a dark retelling of Beauty & the Beast with some elements from Rumplestilstkin and Blue Beard, along with new things that made this story truly unique. I simply devoured it in 2-3 days, and only because I had tests and other stuff at the time, or I would have finished it on the same day. You can see this is Hodge's debut novel, because there weren't many plot twists, some things were a little confusing and others were left with no explanation or simply weren't followed through. But it didn't hurt my experience and I loved the story just the same.
