I'm starting small and then I'll see where I go from here. I've got quite a few books I own on my TBR list, but I borrow books a lot. I'll update soon on what my plans are for this challenge.

I have faith that you'll move up to another mountain... I mean, you could read this many just on vacation... :-P

1.) Tuesdays with Morrie 5 Stars
While I've read 6 books this year, this is the first book that I am able to count for this challenge. I got this book toward the end of last year in the Little Library in my area. It had quotes highlighted and little notes written inside of it. As I read I added my own notes and highlighted passages of importance to me. I will be returning it to the Little Library for someone else to read.
I was touched by this book, but I believe that my ability to relate to it is why I am giving it such a high rating. Mitch watched someone that he admired deal with death and having to accept death. The views of Morrie were a comfort for Mitch and for myself. I believe we all wish that we will be able adopt the same style of thinking.
The main lesson of this book is the importance of love and family. For nothing will ever be as important as family. "Love each other or perish."
2.) The History of Mathematics: An Introduction4 Stars
This book was required for my History of Mathematics class, and I probably read the whole thing twice. It has really good background on the beginning of mathematics hieroglyphics, as well as interesting information on the contributing mathematicians. If you are interested in some math information but want an easier read, then this one would be for you.
I am behind on my reading a bit, but my summer will allow me more time to read some books off of my shelf.
Mackenzie: *claws self out of No Posts grave* *reaches hands to sky* *cries out* AAAAAAAAAEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Me: IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!
@Jessica Get ready... I am about to post again. Please hold your applause. 3.)Hollow City
4 stars
I enjoyed this book more than the first installment in this series. There is something about these characters that I really enjoy reading about. The introduction of new peculiar individuals along with more photographs drew me in and kept the magic of the world alive. The next book in the series will most likely be bought during my next bookstore trip.
Read during the 24in48 readathon.
4.) Blood and Chocolate5 stars
This book was a reread from 2011. I remembered loving it the first time I had read it, but since then I could no longer remember much of the story. Rereading was a great option, as I still love the story a second time around. Werewolf books are a hard sell for me, but this one still manages to be the only one that I really like.
Read during 24in48 Readathon
5.) We Bought a Zoo4 stars
This book actually took me a year to read. Goodreads says that I started it on July 11th of last year. Oops. It didn't take me that long to read it because it was bad or anything like that. Only because I saved in my bookbag for any reading time around my classes. As it turns out I either never had the time or another book took it's place. As someone who loves the movie, naturally I found this book very interesting. I am also glad to have put it on my read shelf. Lol
Finished during 24in48 Readathon
6.)Finn3 stars
This was a random book that I bought a while back in a Goodwill store. It is a a retelling of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn that focuses on the stereotypes children develop from the way that they are raised. I did not love this book, but it was an interesting read and one that brings forth much discussion. I do believe that it would be a great read for middle grade students.
Read during 24in48
7.) The Night Circus2 stars
I'm really slacking on this challenge, but here's number 7! I didn't actually finish this one, but I read more than half of it. It's just too slow for me. I didn't hate it, but I couldn't get into it. I had two copies of it that are off the shelf. Progress.
@Mackenzie, you will not make it. Since Shatter Me, you have read 2 library books, 2 sent from the publishers, and 1 that you just received this year. Good try, though. This was a great experiment for me. I knew that I wasn't reading many of my own books, but holy cow. Plus, I have gotten SO MANY books in the last few months. I need to step up my game or stop buying books... So I clearly only have one option. Gotta read those books that are ALREADY ON MY SHELVES.
@Mackenzie, Hear that? Read the ones that are ON YOUR SHELVES.
Better luck on the 2018 mountains.
