Is there a schedule you want to stick to Kirsten, or did you just want to read at whatever pace?I am going to start tonight I think, because I have 8 hours of school tomorrow and I don't want to fall behind on the first day of the buddy read. :)
I finished this one a few weeks ago.I thought she added some original twists to the standard thriller, (view spoiler) I enjoyed it.
I just started yesterday. I don't know if we want to set a certain pace. But I'm open. As I don't have a job, husband, or kids, I'll leave up to you guys.It is interesting so far. This woman's resume must be interesting.
I'm ready to start reading it, but unfortunately my library is not ready to hand it over to me yet. Argh. I may just end up buying the book ... given that you all seem to like it so far?
I prefer to read at my own pace as the time I have available for reading varies greatly. But, if you prefer a schedule that's fine by me too!
At our own pace totally works. I'll just bookmark pages and hide spoilers and indicate which chapter its for.. I don't think I'd buy it either... Books are so expensive.Side note: There's a province in Canada that just implemented a 10% book tax... It's also the lowest literacy province in the country.... What a stupid idea.
You know you're supposed to say "Yes, go for it and buy it!"Oh well, library says around 4 more days ... so hopefully early next week.
@ Chapter 11 - I'm surprised how fast I'm getting through this book to be honest. Clearly something about it is working for me.The writing style initially seems kind of cold... clinical... but I think in this case it works.

That is SO stupid!!!!! (But maybe they want to keep the electorate as ignorant as possible, it works here in the US.)
I just finished Chapter 10. I didn't want to stop reading but I had to do some errands!! (Grrr..... real life, why do you hate me so?)It 's really moving now, and I was actually chuckling at (view spoiler)
I finally got mine :) ... just have to rush through the woman in cabin 10 first now. And, of course I got Gemina at the same time which I'm dying to read. Sighs. So many books. So little time ....
How's it going for you Kirsten? I've been bogged down with school the past few days... I'm on chapter 22. I'm still interested, but not as invested as I was in the beginning... (view spoiler)
I'm going to start this today. Really excited about it for some bizarre reason. But, to be fair, apart from that dreadful nonsense in Breaking Dawn, I'm a total Stephenie Meyer fangirl. I even loved The Host :)
Me too, Janina!I'm in chapter 20....
The love doesn't bother me so much .... but not so much chemistry as in Twilight and the Host...
Favorite bit so far is the dogs...

I thought the dogs were one of the more innovative parts of the story.
I didn't hate Daniel, I just didn't get much chemistry between them. How can you not love the dogs????Maybe if they were trained Komodo dragons?
Ooooh, that would have been totally amazing! I love Komodo dragons! Fantastic idea!Daniel made me want to rip the pages out of the book.
I didn't mind the dogs. They were a really cool idea. I just don't like dogs in general all that much .. all that happiness and willingness to serve and please and follow orders .. I prefer my cat peeing against a wall (since I didn't remember to turn off the rain or did some other mysterious thing to displease him) over that anytime. Luckily, we live in California!
Come to think of it .. Daniel is pretty much the human version of a dog.
