I read this one about two years ago but I can hardly remember it...I think it's time for a re-read!

Just finished this book, did enjoy it, like I always do with Christie. Something a little different to the usual style., this murder being set 16 years ago. I'm kind of in the middle when it comes to this style and I'm still not sure whether I prefer murders set in the present, or the unmasking of a killer from long ago...
This book, was I suppose more of a recount, but it was interesting to see the point of view of all the suspects. This must have been very hard for Poirot, unearthing a murder set so many years ago. Of course, he makes it all look easy at the end! Really proves just how clever he is, as this time, he has no material clues, just the views and account of events from the witnesses.. Very cleverly written, I always love the end scene where Poirot, dramatic as always, takes centre stage, and reveals everything!
Once again, a very cleverly written plot, a nice change to the usual style as well- its always nice to read books that are told in different styles and from different aspects. You never know what Poirot thinks, or who he suspects, until the very final chapters, meaning YOU have to play a part in reconstructing the crime, you really feel fully involved, like YOU are the detective!
Although not my favourite, certainly a really great 'retrospective mystery' that I will happily reread! Nice Job Christie, once again you had me fooled!
Think I'll move on to Mrs Mac Gintie's Dead or The Hollow. Am also thinking of giving a few 'cosy mysteries' a try- does anyone know anything about the British Crime Classic series, I'm probably starting on them- love the settings!
Happy Reading Everyone! :)
