I feel like young boys in stories seems to be the thing lately, lol! (Even another book I just finished had young kids in it and was in the 80's. Altho' this story the kids are a bit older, in high school.) Anyways I think because of the trend and the cover I keep thinking this story is set in the 80's or years ago. But they keep referencing current day things so I have to keep reminding myself it's current day.
I really liked the characters in this story. Will and his friends, Chris & Barley.........loved the friendship. Even tho' this was not a long book, Janz writes enough to make you invested in the characters good and bad (the cops, for instance.....grrrr.) You can't help but root for Will and admire him for his courage.
I totally agree Josen.I do get irritated when authors write cops/FBI type characters in the negative sterotype. It is like, "gosh, got anything else??" It is already so real world that it is too cliche. I would like someone to write about the cops being good people.
