Ever have one of those dreams that feels very significant? I dreamed that the Stapelia cuttings I'm trying to root were really taking off, and already blooming after a very short time. I woke up feeling filled with hope about the Stapelias I was giving later that day to my friend. But I couldn't help wondering if this was really such a great omen considering that the common name is Carrion Flower.
Since the snow storm here in NJ was causing problems we did not have to go into work on Thursday. Fine by me, I got another day off since I took Wednesday. Got a lot of crocheting and reading done. Did do some shoveling but it really wasn't too bad since I waited until it was almost over. This way I didn't have to do it twice. What I really hate is when the plows come thru and dam up the end of the driveway. Now I'm back to work but it's not too bad since I work in the Library.
I can't believe I just got my first cavity. Everyone is my family has a mouthful of fillings and I've avoided it all these years. I guess the party's over.
We need to have a party or something to liven up this thread, except the last time I threw a party no-one came.

Actually we can celebrate my getting rid of my room-mate. She has until April 30th otherwise the Sheriff comes to take her out (LONG STORY).

Interrupting the party for great news- just heard that my nephew and his wife had their first child - a little girl named Emerson. With that name, maybe she will be writer!

Went to visit my daughter and my grandson for his birthday in Chicago. Lovely time and he got so big. Loves his trucks, cars and trains, what else! Hopefully I'll bet back to see them around Thanksgiving or maybe even before.
Goodreads is rolling out an “enhanced” service that really isn’t … Now, after you’ve marked a book as “read” you’ll get an annoying email letting you know all the ways to can further interact with others about this book. For directions on how to opt out
NOTE: this is a serial roll-out. They’re starting with just 5% of the members. You won’t be able to opt out until you receive that first email.

On a positive note, I noticed you can now indicate if you are re-reading a book.

I'm looking at my TBR pile and I just have too many books. I know, how is that possible, but I started looking at the books and know I will never read some of these because for whatever reason I put them there in the first place I just don't want to read them any more. So instead of 502 I am now down to 432. I am still going thru that list and I know that I will be dumping more books. I started looking and just couldn't believe I wanted to read some of these. I guess my taste in books has changed. ^-^ And really 432 is still way to many.

And I've had many a "WHY did I add this?!" moment ....

I tried to read from the top of my list (the oldest entry) first but since I have been on Goodreads and LibraryThing I have been going hog wild adding books to my reading list. I have had to get rid of books and I too wonder sometimes why a book is on my list or if I don't want to read the next book on my list and still think I will read it I will put it on the bottom of my list.

Today is Independent Bookstore Day and despite pouring rains I manage to get there and spend close to $100. So don't forget to shop your independent bookstores besides shopping at Amazon. Let's share the wealth!

Oh well I was in DC marching to protest climate change, which according to my co-worker was a total waste of my time. So I'm just crying my eyes out now for being such a dummy.

Well that was a pretty mean thing to say!

Well, I still haven't gotten my payment from the Democratic party for the Womens & Science marches I was in ;-)
I didn't get paid but the bus ride there was free, and we were provided with lunch, water and metro cards to get to and from the march.
A man sitting across from me on the Subway was reading a book. The way he was holding the book it looked like the title was "Fart of Soldier" which makes absolutely no sense. This is the book Heart of a Soldier
I WON A BOOK. I won Kevin Kwan's new book "Rich People's Problems". YES! YES! YES! Can't wait until I get it. WHOO! (Can you tell I'm excited?)

I read the other two and they were a hoot. I hope this one is just as good.

Well I read the article. Can't help that she thought this was a bad idea but I don't think so. It gives people a time to think of what our Mothers did for us, and most of them caring, loving mom's. It is a shame that life did not work out for her but again, I love my Mom and wish she was still her to tell her so. She was awesome.
The wifi is out in my apartment. Don't know if it's me or the cable company, unfortunately the workers are on strike so I am trying to get by with free public wifi.
The result to you is my posting and general admin duties will be spotty for awhile. I wanted you to know I haven't abandoned you.

Worked in the Library yesterday and the computers went down so we had to write out the barcode numbers of the patrons card and the books they took out. And of course, the Mom's took out a ton of childrens books so that was a long list. Yes, it did come back up but there was so much to enter into the computer and still take care of the patrons who came after. One time I wish there weren't so many people in the Library. LOL!

There is someone in one of the groups I'm in, and every time this person posts I want to say: "Stop being such a snarky little A******."
