((Amelia pov))

“Come onnnnnn Alex.” I poked him again with my fork. “Tell meeeeeee.”

He made a muffled moaning sound, on account of his face being planted to the table.

“Please Alex?” I begged. “You've been sulking around all morning. Why won't you tell me what happened last night? If you talk about, it might make it better…”

“I doubt that.” He mumbled.

I crossed my arms and scowled. “Why? Scared I won't approve?”

He lifted his head and gave me a cheeky grin. “Probably.”

I slammed my fork down on the table. “You know what, Mr. Grumpy Pants? If you won't talk, I have better things to do with my time.”

“Oh really?”

I stood up and marched over to the food table and grabbed a plate. “Yea. Watch me.”

I walked into the dining hall still in my pajamas, and desperately trying to finger-comb my hair. On the other side of the hall, I spotted Amelia and headed over.

"Hey Amelia." I said yawning. "What's up? Have you seen Alex?"

I turned around and saw Anna and Jamie coming my way. "Oh hey guys!" I said grinning. "You two look a little worn out." I raised an eyebrow inquisitively. "Rough night?"

((Ps Katiya, I saw your pics and the one is cute but...what the heck is Austiana?))

Anna and I shared a look. "Yeah. I only got a few hours of sleep...thanks to the storm."

I laughed. There was obviously something they weren't going to tell me. "You better count me in on that. I love movies."

I jerked my head over to the table where Alex was sitting, ignoring the way he stared at Anna with an almost resentful look.

"Hey why don't you guys come sit with us? There's plenty of room."

((That's AustinxChris. Don't worry, Chris is just short for Christiana. She was Elise's character, so was Austin.))

I shrugged and followed Amelia to her table. I didn't think she knew what had happened last night.

((Oh. You'll have to give me a follow up cuz I have no idea who she is))

"Sooo..." I said conversationally. "You guys got any plans for today?" I sat down at the table, trying to ignore the way Alex tensed when Anna and Jamie followed suite.

I fidgeted with my jade necklace. "Well, I'm definitely not going to the beach today." I stole a sheepish glance at Alex. "I've had enough water to last me a month."

My eyes flitted between Jamie and Alex. There was something he wasn't telling me.

Standing up, I excused myself and dragged Alex away from the table and out of earshot. "Alright, spill." I ordered.

He fidgeted with with his pendant. "Well..."

"In this century, Alex."

He gave a frusturated sigh. "After you left, I wanted to wait the storm out underwater. So I was kind of just hanging out down there and then...I saw Jamie..."

My eyes widened. "What-"

He shook his head and ran a hand through his hair. "She was...drowning."

I scowled. "How'd she manage that?"

Alex but his lip. "There was a really bad riptide, and it was really dark."

I rolled my eyes. "Of course it was. Continue."

He ran another hand through his hair. "By that time, she was unconscious, and I brought her to the beach. Then I forced all the water out of her lungs and she woke up."

I choked on my next breath. "And you were-"

"It's okay." He assured me. "She didn't see anything, I swear." He took a deep breath. "Then she um, fell asleep and I kind of took her back to her cabin."

"That's it?" I asked.

Alex scowled. "What does it take to impress you?"

I smirked at his discomfort. "A lot."

"Yeah." I said, in absent response to Anna's comment. "We could go to Half-Blood Hill or something..."

I watched as Amelia seemed to grill Alex about last night. I couldn't hear what they were saying, but he looked really nervous, and a couple times Amelia looked ready to strangle him. I wondered why.

I scowled at Anna. "Maybe I do, maybe I don't. It's not like he's going to trust me with his life secret just because he save my life. In fact, that seems kind of backwards to you doesn't it?"

I shook my head. "Ease up on him would ya? We don't even know him that well anyway."

I scoffed. "Who said I was committing to anything? I'm just..." I shook my head and sighed. "I don't know. I don't think it's fair to pressure him so much."

I glanced over Alex's shoulder and raised an eyebrow. "Looks like they're talking about you." I said, pointing to where Jamie was inherently trying to calm down a very pissed-looking Anna.

Alex sighed. "I guess so."

I elbowed him. "Hey why don't you like her?"

"Who? Anna?"

I gave him a look like, duh.

He became very interested in his shoes. "Because yesterday...she almost saw me."

"WHAT?!?"

He flinched. "But she didn't though! So we're all okay."

"Why was she there?!" I demanded. "And how did you not know she was there?!"

"Woah there Mimi, calm down." Alex said, restrained me from marching up to Anna and punching her in the face. "No need to go all hulkazoid on me right? Everything turned out okay."

"But you're still mad at her." I pointed out.

He raised his eyebrows. "Yes, but that's because she blamed me for hurting Jamie, which I would never do. Now let's go play nice with the other kids okay?"

I was still fuming but followed Alex as he walked back to the table.

"Good news!" He said, plopping down with an overly cheerful expression. "A walk sounds great."

"Sooo..." I muttered as Anna slipped out of the table. "You look pretty steamed." I said to Amelia. "What's up?"

"It's nothing." I mumbled.

Alex rolled his eyes. "Come on Mimi, its okay."

I scowled at him. "You should be more careful next time. I swear the moment you leave my sight something happens!" I threw my hands in the air. "This is crazy!"

I cleared my throat, totally confused, but decided to roll with it. "Um, so are we going to go to Half-Blood Hill or something? Think Anna would be up for that?"

I shrugged and glanced at Anna across the pavilion. "Yeah sure, why not?" I sighed reluctantly.

"Hey Anna!" I yelled, causing a few turned heads. "You coming or what? We're going to Half-Blood Hill, and we will leave you behind!"

I smacked Amelia in the arm. "No we won't!"

I raised my eyebrows at Anna. "Who me?"

Play cool Amelia. I told myself. She's just bluffing.

"What are you talking about?" I demanded with a scowl.

Alex and I shared a look, and he bit his lip nervously.

I let out a frusturated sigh and ran a hand through my hair. "Look, I'm sorry for making that impression on you, and that was my bad. I just..."

Alex shook his head in warning.

"Look, believe me, I love sharing stories, but this-" I jabbed a finger at my scar. "This is a little personal. I'll tell you when I...when I think I can trust you." I looked at Jamie. "Both of you."

I nodded when Amelia gave me a pointed look. "No I understand. Some secrets are secrets for a reason."

"It's fine." I muttered. "Again, sorry."

After a moment of awkward silence, Alex clapped his hands together. "Well! Now that that's settled, are we going to go to the hill or not?"

He nudged Jamie playfully. "I'll race you!"

I squealed and took off. "Catch me if you can!" I screamed over my shoulder. *further RP will commence at the hill*

Skylar shrugged. "About a year now I guess?" she responded. "My dad lives not too far from camp so I'm at his house sometimes. How long have you been here?" Her plate had a huge slice of pizza, which she had chosen after a brief moment of indecision.

As Ace entered the dining pavilion she sat at the edge of the table. Still near the group, but not trapped between people

"My mom's Demeter, who's your dad?" she asked.

Ace shrugged. "I'm guessing it has to be a male god, seeing as it's my mom who remarried. And I'm guessing it's not Dionysus since I'm not a party or alcohol person. Can't be Zeus because I abhor heights." She mused. "But I don't know really."

"Do you think it could be Ares?" Skylar mused. "Or Her-" she was cut off as her brother appeared behind her, putting his hands on her shoulders in an attempt to frighten her. "Mes," she finished, glaring at him. "Real mature, Benny." He grinned and sat down next to her.

Ace chuckles softly, looking down at her empty place. While she did like to think she had a knack for music and medicine, she was almost 75% positive she wasn't a child of the sun.

((Btw if you ever want to you can just throw in her claim. I didn't particularly plan on anything, so anyone can go nuts if you want.))

"I don't like fighting, even though I can sometimes be violent. And while I don't like stealing or pranks, I do love traveling. It could be yes or no." She answered calmly, smiling slightly. She had thought a lot about this, and was kind of glad to be able to say it out loud to someone.

Ace saw the noticeable change in Anna, and easily made a solid connection. She didn't say anything except, "I am startlingly mediocre at archery."

"Oh um I'm Benny," he said shyly, noticing there were other people with his sister. He smiled nervously. Skylar grinned a little at this and tried to continue the conversation. "What if your dad is Poseidon or Hades?" she wondered.

"Seeing as I can't control water, I highly doubt I could be a child of Poseidon. However, I am fascinated with marine life and oceans, so that counters that." She answered simply. Watching Benny out of the corner of her eye.

Ace shrugged and shook her head. "I don't swim a lot, I just like the animals that live in the water. And the fact that out of 75% of the water currently covering the Warths surface we have, at most, only explored 5%"

"Yep," Benny answered, feeling like an idiot. He hadn't even said hi or anything just stuttered out his name. Whenever he talked a girl he acted so stupid!

Ace noticed Benny's shy, nervous demeanor. She wasn't sure if it was his normal personality or if he reciprocated Anna's feelings. She, again, didn't say anything.

Ace nodded calmly. "The majority of bird species rely on elaborate looking males to attract blander looking females. Because the females often get the last say in who procreates or not."

"No I didn't," Skylar replied, noticing the change in Anna. She made eye contact with Ace for a moment to show she had noticed what was going on. Benny was apparently oblivious, as usual.

Ace kept her expression calm and collected, revealing nothing of the information on Anna she gathered. If no one else could notice it, she sure wasn't going to give it away.

Ace watched as Annatried to make herself look nicer than she already looked. At least she was damp and dirt from horse washing.

Benny sat there awkwardly for a moment, then decided he should go get some food. That would give him a chance to think of something interesting to say. "I'm gonna go get some food," he said, and then slipped away to get a cheeseburger. Skylar took a bite of pizza.

Ace decided to politely intervene. "I believe we all know what's going on Jack, and let those who don't live in ignorance." She said simply and calmly, sipping from a suddenly full glass of water.

Skylar laughed. "Nice," she repeated. "I guess. Then again, he is my brother so..."

"Whatcha guys talking about?" Benny asked, sliding back into his seat with a plate that had a cheeseburger and fries on it. He grinned to cover up that he still hadn't a clue what to say.

Ace quickly decided to make Benny squirm a bit. "We were just talking about how male birds try their best to impress females birds when trying to mate."

"You look fine," Skylar whispered when Benny was looking at Ace.

"Oh, uh, cool," replied Benny, blushing a bit.

Ace nodded, not letting Anna rely on her odd accumulation of facts to get her out of this awkward situation. She turned back to her place and sipped her water, smiling slightly.

Benny took a bite of his cheeseburger as an awkward silence slowly descended on the group. He was not much good at conversation. "Did you guys know that Benny knows karate?" asked Skylar out of the blue. Benny felt his face go hot.
