Book vs Movie

Book >>>>>>>> movie. I agree with all the comments and no one could have said it any better. I think the movie adaptation is too summarized and did not catch the overall feel of the book. I recently found out that there was a movie right after reading the book, can't believe I've postponed reading that book for so long. The book tells it like it is, there are no hidden agendas or missing plots. So, to anyone reading this, please read the book and if you want to watch the movie then go for it but be warned.. you're going to want to read the book anyway.
I agree also with everything you said, and I'd like to add that when movies are based on books with this kind of topics, they shouldn't summarize anything or try to make it less rough, because it's not. Mental health is something that has been discussed for many years, and in the movie, in order to be good, it should give this topic the importance it deserves.

Also, Noelle and her scars. In the book, Noelle clearly explains how she cut her face because she felt the burden of beauty and a history of sexual abuse (it has been a while since I read the book so my memory may not be exact). I specifically remember her scars being more prevalent than depicted in the movie. I believe one of the main aspects of this book that I appreciated was the honesty and lack of sugar-coated truths. I feel like the movie skimmed over these aspects to a certain extent.
I would love to hear others' opinions about this book and how the movie matched your imagination.
