Right after Renesemee is born and Bella is conscious for that one second Renesemee bites her, (funnily enough right after Bella utters her name, she didn't like it either) but why? Renesemee was intelligent enough in the womb for Edward to read clear thoughts and in English no less, she was smart enough to know she loved her mom and didn't want to kill her, so why did she immediately bite her?

Well, that bite gave Bella something to focus on, maybe Renesmee felt like her mum was fading away before the venom had a chance to work. Also, babies have a natural instinct to feed and feeding from mum straight after birth strengthens their babies bond.
Renesmee even though she was a infant she was very smart a knew that her mother "Bella" was dying, & needed Edward's venom, she bit Bella"her mom" to snap her out of the moment of seeing her newborn 'Renesmee " so she could get the much needed venom from Edward, so she'd have a fighting chance of living. You notice in the movie that it seems after Renesmee was born everyone present got caught up in the moment of seeing her & her beauty. And putting Bella's struggle on trying not to die on the back burner. But Renesmee being so smart and also having a gift, she saw everything that led up to this moment and knew she needed venom asap,so as Bella & Edward were getting so caught up in the moment she had to bite her,to snap her out of it,& Edward to also snao out of this lovely moment to save her mom's life.
