The Malazan Fallen discussion

This is a really long one.

She clenched down on her irritation. ‘Warran?’‘Warran,’ he echoed. As they walked along he repeated the name, trying it out. ‘Okay. I suppose that will do.’

Obviously the old man is a mage. Now which one? I was thinking of people who traveled either chaos or shadow and checked their physical descriptions and struck out on Kulp and Hairlock. I was half thinking outside the Mage's towards Heboric.

With the play of siblings in this series I started wondering about the Queen and the Lady being related.

There's a lot that went on in this chapter but most of it was really clear cut. I enjoyed it but there weren't a lot of undercurrents that foreshadowed future events.

The chapters become abundant with an abundance of detail, and ICE has pulled it all together beautifully. At times in Stonewielder I felt like he was stringing a certain group along, like it was taking too long for them to travel, but then I was reminded that The Lady would attack anyone travelling by warren, so I let it slide.
