James was walking down the street wearing a dark color hooded cloak, he kept half his face covered to avoid detection. He noticed quite a few vampires out today with their feeders he hated that men who could've kept fighting but surrendered to theses things.
Vee was rushing down the side walk. She didn't have long until some shops closed, and she was desperate to find a dress. It wasn't a smart idea waiting until last minute to buy a dress for the ball. But at least she her sister didn't join her today. She wouldn't have stopped talking about what a bad idea this was, and Vee wasn't in the mood for that. As she tried to squeeze past people, she accidentally bumped into someone that was dressed in a cloaked hoodie. "I'm so sorry!" She immediately spoke as she balanced her, feeling bad.
James felt someone bump into him, instantly he felt his heart skip a beat as he feared he was discovered he looked over at the vampire who bumped into him. He noticed that she wasn't a guard but she could be an agent, he quickly grabbed the girl and brought her into an alley where they wouldn't be bothered. He shoved her against a wall and held a knife close to her heart "who are you are you with the guards" he said in a stern voice.
Vee, looking up into the covered face, expected ether to hear the person assure her it was okay or push her back and probably walk away with a line of curse words. But nether of that happened, and instead something else did, something she didn't expect. She gasped in fear as she was pulled into the nearest ally. What is going on?! Vee thought frighteningly. Everything happened so faster, and before she knew it she was shoved into the wall and a knife was held against her throat. She swallowed in fear as she looked up into the persons eyes. A man? Alone? Vee was so confused, and scared. She could barely speak. Even though she was a vampire and he was a human- telling by his beating heart- he was twice her size and was holding a weapon for her to try to do anything. "N-no. No. I'm not a guard. I swear." The words quickly spill out of her.
Her answer didn't satisfy him "how do I know you're not lying" he said. If there was one thing he knew about vampires is that they can be killed and one way he knew of was a knife to the heart. If she was an agent he would kill her then go to one of his hideouts, but if she wasn't what was to stop her from alerting the guards these questions raced through his mind.
Vee didn't know how to make him believe her. She wasn't a guard, but she had no proof to get him to believe it. Even though she didn't like the system, he still wouldn't believe her if she told him that. But still, she didn't want to die. So she had to do something. "I'm telling the truth." Vee's voice shook. Her eyes stung with tears too, afraid that he would actually kill her. "Please don't kill me. I'll do anything. Just don't hurt me." She begged him.
He could see the tears in her eyes, he sighed and put his knife away "alright then if I let you live you will keep your mouth shut about seeing me got it" he said. He didn't want his existence to be known he wanted to remain hidden.
Relief washed over her when pulled the knife away. She relaxed, but just a little, since she was still shook about what had just happened. She pushed her gray hair that fell into her face. At least he wasn't going to kill her. But still, she couldn't help but wonder more about him. How is it he's free? Vee wondered for a moment. She couldn't help herself, so she asked, "You ran away before you were found? Didn't you?"
He looked at her in the eyes when she said that "when your kind began to take over I decided to take refuge in a hideout" he said not wanting to give her to much info bout him. He felt kinda nervous about being in the open this long, he felt like the guards would find him soon.
Vee looked down when he said your kind. She never liked it when anyone said that. She didn't like being a vampire. She didn't want too, the only reason she did was because they took her mother away and she followed her older sister who agreed to it without a problem. Of course now she regretted. But she tried not to think about it too much though. She just pushed away these thoughts and looked backed to him. "Are there others like you?" She asked him. If only she had thought what he thought and went to hide.
"Why would you want to know that?" He questioned he didn't want to give out i for to a stranger let alone a vampire. He looked over at the street where he still saw vampires and their feeders walking.
"Because..." She starred off. But how would she explain to him why she wanted to know. She bit her lip in thought. She looked over this guy, who she still didn't know his name, from head to toe. He looked very intimidating. She sighs and looks back up to meet his gaze. "Because... I never wanted to be a vampire. I want the freedom of having not to worry about the law." She admits. But she didn't know if that even made sense. "I want to know if there are people that still live the way we used to."
"There are many more like me who live in the shadows" he said, this was a first for him he hasn't before heard a vampire admit hating they they are a vampire.
Vee's eyes widened. There's people hiding? How come I didn't know? Vee thought to herself. She felt so angry, so hurt. If only she had knew, maybe she wouldn't be the monster she is. But it was too late now. She couldn't change it. "So... What will you do now?" She asked him. He had changed his mind on killing her, so she wondered if this was the last time they would meet.
He had a plan to have his music played on the radios and tv's stations, although getting that to happen would be difficult. He had heard of a ball happening where the queen would show and he figured he would try to go there but he ran into a problem of getting in, "is it true there is a ball going on?" He asked answering her question with a question.
Vee didn't expect him to ask her a question, especially one that had to do with the ball. But she didn't see no harm in answering him. "There is," she tells him. She looks out into the street from where they stood in the alley before looking back to him. She was a little scared of getting caught now. "She's throwing it in her manor.... Why?" She asked.
"I want to see the lady who enslaved my people" he said looking at her dead in the eye, the queen he knew was to blame for everything that happened.
"But... You can't." She said to him as he stared into her eyes, her needing to tilt her head up to look into his. "You can't go alone. They'll catch you." She explains. But he had to know that. He knew how the system was, and what the queen would do to him if she finds him there. "The only way a male can go is if their a feeder to a vampire and she takes him."
"And what are you suggesting?" He asked he knew what the queen would do but he really needed to see exactly what kind of vampire she was.
Suggesting? She wasn't suggesting anything.... Was she? Then, after thinking about what she said, the words slowly came out of her mouth. "You want... Me... To act as your master?" She asked him. No... I can't do that. Why would I do that? I don't even know him. God I'm not even supposed to be doing this. Vee looked over her shoulder again, she had a bad feeling about this. But what was she supposed to do? Just walk away. Then he would think she's with the queen and really kill her then.
He pondered this for a moment he hated vampires but if she could get him inside the ball then maybe he should go along with her. "Alright I guess you could be my temporary master" he said
"Wait, your for real?" She asked him, not believing that he was agreeing to this. She didn't even agree on it. "What if we get caught?" She asked him. "How do I know I can trust you?" She asked, though to him it was more like how could he trust her. Still, she didn't know this guy.
"If we get caught I have a way to escape them and as for trust well if i didn't think you could help me I would've left already but I'm still here" he said. He didn't really trust her but he did to a point that point being she could get him in the ball.
Vee thought about what he was saying. She knew she was going to regret this, but for some reason she thought she needed to. With a sigh, she nodded. "Fine." "Meet me by the park, then we can head to the ball together." She tells him.
He nodded and without saying a word he walked away disappearing into the ally like a phantom. He knew where he was and opened a hidden passage making sure to close it and lock it, this was his domain at least for now he walked to a safe room where he had live feed from street cameras and some on the inside of his hideouts he then began to get ready by grabbing the best looking suit he had.
Matthew was walking through the streets, hood over his head as he walked. He had hoped nobody had seen him. Matthew continued walking, rain pouring down, barely anybody was out that day, yet he continued to hide his face. "Of all the times to rain, why now?" He asked himself mumbling, he couldn't stop it, so he had to endure it.
