When the Dead Walk discussion

Time Square
Valak's steps were careful, cautious. He was naturally rather clumsy and he'd hate the thought of getting himself all dirtied with whatever ancient muck lined these unkept streets. Black orbs, starless nights, scanned the area, and from not too far he could make out the faintest of moaning. His eyebrows raised slightly and he pondered over the affects of a bite on a literal god. He didn't really want to think about being bitten though. By the undead or the alive. It was simply unpleasant. His clothes were irrationally clean. As well as his hair, his skin. He didn't look like a common survivor. Because he wasn't. And he wasn't very good at hiding that fact in general. He let out a quiet huff and turned, glancing around carefully. He was scouting ahead, his group was much farther behind him but he decided to let them sleep while he investigated the area.
Out of one of the many windows along the streets was the slight glimmer of the scope on Alice's gun. She had been out trying to hunt for some meat, but the distant sounds of moaning caused her to worry. She wouldn't have much time to skin the animal. She would have to- Alice's thoughts were cut short at the appearance of a man. A man who... did not look like he had to spend his life running from zombies. Who was he?
The resentment that had developed at the pit of him only grew when he realized that the sound of moaning was coming closer. Someone, or rather, something, had sniffed him out. And they weren't the only one. He slowly turned to Alice, staring directly into her scope and narrowing his black eyes. He could see her.
Well that's creepy for sure. She leered back at him. Perhaps he wasn't human and was turning? Either way this guy looked like trouble, but she wouldn't shoot him. Yet. She took her scope off him to show he wasn't her target, but she kept her eyes on him in case he tried something funny. He could try to take her kill.
As soon as she had taken her scope off of him he appeared directly behind her, tilting his head, "You wont be trouble will you?" he suddenly asked, his voice hollow, cold. His aura was frightening. The way he composed himself. It was all unsettling somehow. "There is a group of people south of here. We'll be moving through this road soon, and I'd rather you didn't target us." he added.
"Jesus!" She snapped at him, swinging the butt of her gun at his face. He probably blocked it but either way. "What the hell are you?" She snapped at him. She knew attacking it was stupid, but it's there fault for poping up behind her like that!
Valak didn't block, and it hit him directly in the jaw. He stumbled slightly but didn't seem too affected by the hit, despite the bruising. "I'm... someone looking out for another person. Hello." he brought his hand out in greeting, bowing slightly to show her he was no threat.
Alice frowned. She turned her gun away fromHim and sighed. "How the hell did you get behind me? You got a twin brother or something?" She asked. It was clear she wasn't try to pick a fight, but she supposed she owed him an answer. "Don't worry, as long as your groupies aren't dear I won't shot at them," she said with a rather annoyed growl.
Valak approached her and gazed out the window, eyeing her vantage point and pacing around the room to clearly study his surroundings, "You are hunting? Have you not eaten?" he asked, ignoring her questions.
"Not today, but it's fine. Even if I don't get anything big people appreciate the furs in the winter, so I can always trade fur for food," she said with a shrug. She felt compelled to explain herself to this guy. Probably because he looks like he doesn't suffer like everyone else does.
Valak stared at her in slight confusion. He felt something deep down that pained him. Sadness? No it was more tight than sadness. Guilt. Yes. He unbuttoned his leather jacket carefully. He was wearing a completely clean white t shirt beneath, also a button up. He reached in and pulled out a few candy bars, holding them out to her, "I don't eat." he said simply.
She gave him a rather odd look. "The hell you do. Who doesn't eat?" she asked him with a rather annoyed look. First he was "teleporting" and now he does eat. She either walked in on something big, or this man was crazy. Probably crazy, but whatever. As long as he didn't stab her in the gut.
Valak gazed at the candy bars, furrowing his eyebrows, "I found them, you're hungry." he set them in front of her and glanced out the window again, ignoring her, once more. "There's a deer there. I think that's what you were looking for" he said calmly, tilting his head at her, turning his gaze back to the animal that was eating the moss that had begun growing over a car.
Alice let out a sigh as she looked at where he was point. How convenient. Something to distract her from the question. Oh well. A skin was a skin, and she needed it. She lined up the shot before looking at him. "Get out of the way. I only have so long and I don't need you tripping me when I go for the kill," she hissed at him.
Valak stared at her, stepping back a little bit and raising an eyebrow. Well that was futile. He wasn't even in the way to begin with. He wondered where she'd gotten such a large gun. And while he could have just reached forward and touched her arm or something, a way he could gather information on a person, he preferred the mysteriousness. "It's almost nightfall. The shot might attract unwanted visitors..." he pointed out. Not like they could do much. He wouldn't let them kill her. He was intrigued, for the moment anyways.
"Which is why you need to shut up for five damn seconds so I can shoot it before the whole lot of them come surfing through here looking for the smell of blood. If I can get the organs out fast enough then they'll be distracted by that," she growled as she re-lined up her shot.
Valak went silent and eyed the deer, frowning faintly. He didn't like that for some reason. Hunting. Takuro did it sometimes, but it wasn't something... he approved of. Maybe it was because nature had been the only thing he could relate to, these four thousand years.
Seeing as he wasn't going to say anything else, Alice went in for the kill. One expert shot to the heart and the deer was down in an instant. Not wanting to waste any time, Alice quickly shot up and bolted out of the room. Having to run all the way down the stares first in order to reach the animal. She didn't have much time, and she needed to make sure she got every thing she could get before "they" arrived. Not even checking to see if the deer was still kicking she opened it up. Which meant it was dead as if she had missed or left it alive the thing would have kicked her in the face by now. Either way though she did her beast to cut out the organs and make use of every part of the deer she could.
Valak was behind her again, but he didn't seem strained at all, his eyes trained on her and her work. "Your blade is dull" he pointed out, "May I see it?" he asked suddenly, glancing around slowly to check if any infected had arrived. Not quite yet. But they would. They'd be more fixated on the blood than her.
((You made anoter character ^.^))"Let me finish cutting it open first," she said with a sigh as she opened up the dear. She could do a bit without it though, but still... "I'll need that back right away," she snapped at him as held out the knife for him to grab before getting back to work. Honestly. This guy had no concept of the real world did he? You couldn't just worry about a dull blade in the middle of a hunt!
<< i did, she's a sweet muffin she doesn't deserve this world it's kinda weird, i never make females so it was a little strange >>
Valak took the blade and walked to the side over the overpass, throwing it over and turning his back to her. He focused on the void. Nothing. Everything. And in his hands he manifested another blade. It was from an ancient time but it was far sharper than the blade she'd had. The dull dagger he'd thrown out. He approached, holding it out, unsheathed, "It looked like you were struggling" he said simply.
http://st2.depositphotos.com/1014476/... (it's real pretty oml)
((Lol. I never make males so whatever.))Alice looked up at the dagger for a moment and frowned. "What the hell did you do with my dagger?" she asked flatly as she turned to work again. This dagger was far sharper but... Something about it just made her sick to her stomach. She didn't even bother thanking him for the new blade as she started to take the guts out of the animal. She seemed to toss the guts on the ground as if she was somewhat angry.
<< he's trying to be her friend oml she hates him LMAO >>Valak glanced at the side of the overpass, "A... place... far away" he said a little awkwardly, turning north and listening closely, "You have approximately two minutes to get what you need and return to your vantage point" he suddenly spoke, voice going hollow again.
((I'm so sorry 3:))"Gee, thanks for tossing the knife my father gave me and replacing it with a fancy knife that'll probably get me shot in the back of the head by some other ass hole who wanted it," she told him bluntly as she started finished up on the deer. All she needed to really do now was separate the hide from the meat and she'd be golden. She knew how much time she had. She'd be done.
"Oh. Sentimentality. That's uncomfortable" he blurted out, blinking faintly. Wow Valak. Real smooth talker. He was better with monologues that included various speeches on philosophy. Not small talk... or any other talk really. He swallowed and peered over the edge, "Shall I retrieve it?" he asked.
Alice sighed. "Well it's too late for that now, the zombies will be here soon. I guess the knife was getting old or whatever, but really? What's with this fancy knife? I bet this'll get stolen the second I go to sleep. Like really, this looks like it belongs in a museum.... You didn't take this from a museum did you?" she asked as she looked him in the eyes.... His pure black eyes. "...or did I just get mixed in with some weird death ritual?" she asked bluntly as she scooted away from him as she shoved the meet and fur into separate bags for her to carry.
Valak furrowed his eyebrows faintly at the sentiment. No. Not today. This wasn't the month of darkness. And deathly rituals only ever took place on the month of darkness. Witchcraft 101, gosh read a book. He shook his head slowly, "It's from a far forgotten time. Crafted by Persian hands... should I assist you in carrying those?" he asked.
"Umm, no. I got them," she said as she gave him another odd look. "Didn't you say you had a group you had to look after or something anyways?" she asked. "Some people to the south or something?" she asked, kind of just hoping this guy would leave. This man was just... unreal. She wouldn't be surprised if she woke up from a dream at this point. This was all just so strange...
"I did. I'm glad you were listening" he replied, voice empty of emotion as he listened to the sounds of a horde coming towards them. "That sounds like death. How fun." he spoke, glancing over the mass of cars.
"Right. I would'a been outta here by now if someone hadn't been so casual like the world isn't trying to kill us. Anyways. You're on your own now, so I hope you get back to your group... or whatever," Alice said as she turned to run off before he could chatter her ear off any longer. She really had overstayed her welcome, and now she had to get the smell of blood off her hands before she returned to her makeshift "sniper's nest" for the rest of the night.
Valak watched her runoff with a small sigh. And even when the horde finally made it to the spot where she'd butchered the deer, they paid no mind to him. Not far from behind her, there was an explosion. At least the horde wouldn't be a problem anymore.
He transversed into her nest, glancing around. It wasn't very comfy. Kind of cold even. So he decided he'd fix that. And within seconds there were lanterns of purple light strewn about, glowing dimly, and there were little strings of flowers lining the walls. Wildflowers. Something he smelled of quite distinctly. He wondered why it was so difficult to make friends.
<< yoooo, if you want she could join their group >>
<< yes. because he's creepy and he wanted to hang flowers up on the wall.
she'll probably like takuro more than him
he's straight to the point and really blunt
and there are other people in the group as well she might like >>
((Are they all rped by you? XD Are you trying to get a posse going in this rp? XD))As Alice got back to her nest she repressed a grunt as she saw lights coming from her home. Who the hell found that place out? She had hid the latter an everything! It was supposed to be her secret little base with no real way up to unless you had a brain and enough muscle to life the ladder up there! Not wanting to lose her home she sneaked up close to the nest to see whom might have gotten up there, and if they had stolen the ladder to get up there, because she was screwed if they did.
<< no maid has takuro and she'll have another character in there too, maybe even three >>Valak waited patiently beside her gun, eyeing it with interest. He never did like weapons, and he disliked when others used them. He wondered if he were a pacifist.. when he was a human.... he couldn't remember.
((OH! oky :3I made another character who might join to maybe I dunno. They might meet your other charrie.))
How strange. The ladder was right where she left it. It seemed whomever got up there had found it on a whim. Maybe she could sneak up on them. Taking out the ladder as quietly as possible, Alice went over to set up the latter the usual way she did to reach her nest. She made sure to pause for a moment to listen for movement upon setting up the latter, and every time she took a step would listen again to make sure she wasn't found. Last thing she wanted to happen was she get herself shot with her own gun.
Valak listened to her shuffling with his enhanced hearing, eyes shifting to the other side of the room, "You're not very good at sneaking" he pointed out, "And you never took your candy bars either." he added.
"Oh, god damn it,' Alice cursed in her mind. Slowly making her way up the latter she did a quick head poke in to the room to see if anyone else was inside before stomping all the way inside and making sure to bring the latter up with her, so that no one could sneak in behind her. She barley even noticed the room until after she settled herself in. She gave him one huge glare to show she was none to pleased with what he had done to the place.
Valak grimaced just faintly at her glaring, and felt as though she were actually stabbing him with those piercing eyes. "... They're wildflowers. They smell nice" he said blankly, after a few moments of awkward silence. This is why he hardly spoke to women. They were terrifying.
Alice pointed her gun at him and growled. "Lights, off, now," she snapped at him. Much more worried about the lantern's light than the flowers. She didn't need the light attracting zombies or other people. Even if it were dim she had some level of paranoia that she wasn't going to let this soft looking break her from. He looked like he didn't even know what a zombie was, or what a struggle was.
Valak glanced at the lights and frowned just faintly, "... Do I have to?" he asked quietly. It was really rather drab in here. Nothing like his base, or his room in the base. Glowing purple, melting candles and books scattered across the nicely carpeted floor. It was lovely. And this was not.
As if to answer his question, Alice took the safety off her gun and pointed it directly at his head. She wasn't playing around. This was life or death for her, and she was not going to dye because of this strange man's weird inhuman abilities. She honestly wouldn't be surprised if he just shrugged this bullet off.
Valak went blank again and the lights simultaneously shut off. "I'm leaving them here. This place needs help" he said monotonously, pushing the barrel of the gun away. It felt uncomfortable staring into the chamber.
"And I might actually use them when their's not a chance that I'd be spotted by zombies or other humans! Like, I don't know, the one in here right now! How did you find out about this place?" She snapped at him, pointing the gun back at him. This guys needed to give her some god damn answers!
Valak glanced out of the building into the night, tilting his head, "I'm sure if you put up a pair of sensible curtains, no one would be able to find this place in particular." he pointed out, avoiding her questions.
"Yeah, a pair of sensible curtains would totally not give me a way, or maybe it would because a pair of good curtains are great savaging material and someone would climb up here to take them to probably use as a blanket," she snapped at him. Keeping the gun pointed at him. If he didn't want to answer her questions, then she'd keep the gun pointed at him.
He thought for a moment, "You could pick a pair of grey curtains, they'd blend in with the stone. Grey is really in this season" he nodded a bit, "I understand you're attempting so desperately to survive. But have you ever thought of perhaps just living?" he asked.
Alice couldn't believe what she was hearing. Really? Really? "You have about five seconds to take that back before I shoot you between the eyes," she hissed at him as she held the weapon more properly against her. This guys was pissing her off. More so because he seemed so removed from the problem. Like this was all some sick game and he was beyond. She wanted to end him. She wanted him gone!
