Sanguinare D'argento translates to "bleed silver," meaning to bleed silver, the main sign that one is afflicted with the blood disease. Godlings born from parents of different pantheons is what caused it to come about. A goddess picked her singer on a spinning wheel, and what came out was a watery silver liquid, not regular ichor. Gods can function properly with Sanguinare D'argento, but when demigods contract it, it is a terrible thing indeed. Infected gods pass it on to their offspring, who then spread it through copulation and is highly contagious. It is suggested that canon gods [not godlings] should not be infected in the roleplay.

A demigod infected with the virus will begin weakening, losing their strength and even powers. Within an hour or so, the virus can be visibly seen spreading through the victims' skin by looks of their veins darkening to a blueish black color that slowly covers the victims. Over time, the veins will cover the victim's entire body appearing where major veins and arteries are held. The victim also experiences pain and discomfort which increases as the virus takes hold of the host. Many hours after exposure to infection, the virus saps its victims powers and strength completely, and they will begin to feel extremely hot all over their body which may perpetuate to a burning sensation all over as the victim comes near the final sage of infection. It also accelerates the demigod's metabolism, causing them to need to feed excessively. This hunger tends to drive the demigods to savagery and brutality out of desperation that they would not normally exhibit, often resulting in cannibalism. At this final stage, the mind of the victim occasionally turns feral, and will lash out violently at anything that moves. They will be able to revert back to an appearance prior to infection, save for their newly pale skin tone, as if anemic, but become highly unstable and emotional, easily prone to fits of anger, which can progress into their dark-veined appearance. When they are in these fugue states, they will start spewing or leaking infected silver blood from all orifices in the virus' attempt to spread itself to new hosts. Shortly before and after fits of rage, they will bleed silver blood from their nose or eyes. Rabid outbursts can be stopped by a taser, rendering the infected unconscious, though depending on the demigod, the voltage might have to be increased due to electricity immunity or resistance to pain. The infected demigod express trouble clotting, making them susceptible to excessive bleeding, to spread the tainted blood.

The virus isn't fatal and does not kill the host. However, upon expiring, the body will explode like a balloon, spraying blood everywhere, leaving a silver-slime coated skeleton behind. While demigods do not have golden ichor, they possess silver blood upon infection. Magical creatures, like elves, dwarves, or cyclopes, who have a godly parent and can contract Sanguiare D'argento, last significantly shorter, but do retrain their mind, not going feral. Nymphs, satyrs, fairies, and other beings not of godly birth die shortly after infection, liquefying into nothing but silver blood.

After 24 hours, the initial signs of infection outside of the silver blood are no longer noticeable, after the infected regains composure from their first feral outburst. Thus, if not caught, it would be hard to discover if someone is infected without making them bleed.
