I know many people have read and loved this series by Cassandra Clare, but there are also a lot of people who haven't read this series like me and are maybe a little intimidated by it or have been putting it off for a while. So if you want to start this series with me and have a discussion about it lets get started!!

Just finished chapter 5 i love it and yet i feel its all spoiled because i watched the movie and tv show.

Ive not watched the movie or tv show and i don't think i want to, the quality just doesn't look that great.

I dont think the movie was great but the tv show, shows some promise.

Just got to page 48 and I'm really enjoying Cassandra Clare's writing i think this is going to be very addictive.

It's totally addictive, I read the first 5 books within a week and then had to wait a whole year for the last one to come out and I was not ok! haha

I think I'm going to listen to it on Audio my library has it.

Im not a huge fan of audio books but good luck with it, and me too I've put it off for so long but imm happy I'm finally reading it!

So I've just got to page 100 and a few pages ago i rolled my eyes at the "she released a breath she didn't realise she was holding" line, but then came along "what would demons want with our microwave?" and for some reason its make the whole book even better.

I finished the series last September but I would love to participate in some discussions! The books aren´t a masterpiece but they are a fun and addicted read! Just wait until you get to book 3!!!!
Ps - After reading the first onr, definitely try watching the movie (it´s not that bad)

Yes so far its very addictive writing. I'm not expecting it to be the best book ever and I'm kind of expecting them to be full of tropes, hmm I'm undecided on the movie and tv show so far.

Just finished. The ending disappointed me. Overall i think im in the love with this story

Wow you read that so quickly, sad to hear that the ending disappointed you but it is the first book in the series so lets hope the others are better

The first book in my opinion is a little underwhelming, after hearing all the hype but it does improve

A little bit further in the book about 20% listened to. I'm really enjoying it, I may have to get the rest of the audiobooks from the library and marathon them.

Ahh i want to carry on reading it but I've been so busy revising for my exam but after today I'm free to read!!!

What does everyone think of Clary as a character? (Book only)

I find her annoying at times

So far I like Clary but then again I've only read just over 100 pages, I quite like Simon so far

I have to agree with the annoying comment, occasionally she does things that don't make sense, like keeping information to herself, things that could be important to figuring out what's going on.

My opinion will probably change about her the more I read which will be tomorrow now I'm free from exams, woo

Almost finished with the audio book, had to take a break. I'm not happy with a character and what they just did. Had to calm down a bit,

Finished it, I loved it and can't wait to read/listen to the rest of the series. Thank you, Ish for giving me a reason to finally start this series.

Is it just me that found the horse and carriage scene a bit cheesy and that Clary is taking things extremely well she just so calm

I took her being calm as her being in shock at all of the changes/problems she had been going through.

I think I've put it down to shock too

So it's 1:26am and I'm reading a very exciting scene, I'm exhausted but this writing has hooked me and I just want to carry on reading, sleep will have to wait!!!

Ive just finished the book gave it 4 stars, now i know why everyone raves about Cassandra Clare and her Shadow World, its such an interesting world and her writing is beautiful, its so addicting, its been a while since I've picked up a book and devoured it, like i did with this one. Although I saw a lot of the plot twists coming a mile away, it was such an enjoyable read and I cant wait to carry on with the series!!

I hope you continue on with the rest soon!

Im glad your enjoying the writing and the world as much as I did, I cant wait to learn more about the world and how it all works. I totally agree with Clary being just so open and willing to do anything without fear or doubts, either she's very brave or stupid. I also wish I had read this as a teen because as an adult i can see all the plot twists before they happen.

So glad to hear so many are enjoying this!!! It makes my heart happy when people like this, it has to be my fav series❤
