So I'm working on a story called "The Merging", which is a dystopian story about two worlds (Earth and another) that - due to some unfortunate events that will be too spoiler-y to reveal here - merge into one. To begin with this was a dystopian Pokémon fanfic, but the idea to develop it into an original story was always in the back of my mind.

Anyway, I'm now at the stage where I'm trying to finish up on some of the main characters and there are two in particular that I can't find good names for. So I'd love if you could look through the descriptions below and then reply with some names that you think might work for them!

Character #1
A young man (20-ish) who has become a sort of leader of a rebel group. Used to be overly positive, but seems to somehow blame himself for the Merging even happening and has become a rather grumpy and negative character (the old him is still somewhere beneath all of that, though). Secretly gay/bi.
Dark hair and dark eyes, tans easily. About 5'7''. When/if he smiles he smiles with an open mouth and really wide. Fit but not in a bulky way.
If you need an actor that looks somewhat like how I imagine this guy to look, think Colin Morgan.

Character #2
A man in his late 20s/early 30s, works with the rebel scientists but has taken on a sort of low-key role. Has many layers and hides a lot of what he has experienced during the Merging beneath a logical, distant mask. Married to his work and can often be found having fallen asleep at his station instead of heading to his sleeping quarters.
Dark brown hair and grey eyes, pale. About 6'1''. Skinny (think Donna Noble's comment about the Doctor: "Give him a hug and you'll get a paper cut"). I'd like for him to have a somewhat French-sounding name, but it's not a must.
If you need an actor that looks somewhat like how I imagine this guy to look, think Benedict Cumberbatch.

So, without knowing any sort of naming conventions that you might be considering to use, how about Isaac for Character 1?
And a french sounding name? I've got no clue on that one, unfortunately!

Thanks guys! I'm going with Isaac for Character #1 for now, but I liked West as well. I'll keep looking into French names (thanks for the link, Frankie!) - luckily the character is introduced with his last name only and that was easier for me to come up with X)
