I am reading Issa Cormier's book Finding My White (Amazon). It is a dystopian novel about how the world has made white the color that correlates to wealth and happiness and how the whole world has bought into it and how things have changed so drastically. Even poor whites aren't white until they're rich. Main character is Aria who, along with a few other people, haven't surrendered to the notion. The novel has everything....symbolism, citizens vs the government (actual battle), spirituality and love.
