A place to discuss, share your thoughts, feelings and questions about The Nature of the Beast, number eleven in the Chief Inspector Armand Gamache series.

Linda | 21 comments Just finished this book. Sadly, it seemed to drag a bit for me, but in the end I enjoyed it although I don't rank it as high on my Gamache list as most of the others. I'm looking forward to the next one in the series, which will be out in paperback later this summer.

Kat (Katz5) | 25 comments "The Nature Of The Beast" was not my favorite either.

"A Great Reckoning" is well worth the wait. Is out now in paperback, so please enjoy

Marcia | 6 comments i also agree that it was a little slower. However a gun like what she describes was real. I didn't know that.

Kat (Katz5) | 25 comments and is important that we know it was real, while simply a novel.

Kat (Katz5) | 25 comments Ms. Penny often takes on a topic based in history, and suggest what could happen then.

I'm on page 42.

"Should the creation be judged by its creator? Does it matter"

This is one question that I can't find an easy answer for.

NancyJ (nancyjjj) I'll be reading this one next. I already read #12 (for a book club), and it was really good. So I'd like to say to anyone who didn't love #10 or 11, just wait, the best is yet to come.

Luckily I snagged #12 from the library to read next, I'm very excited that I got both so close together. Feeling very lucky!

This has me in the Three Pines. I can see the chaos as the villagers discover what is in the woods. Part of me is trying to imagine what they found; however it's not a pleasant thought or image. Inconceivable, really. I suppose that's the only way it managed to stay hidden for so long.

Paula Thoele | 18 comments Although The Nature of the Beast wasn't my favorite, I still enjoyed it. It was interesting to learn about the supergun and talk about it with my husband. I vaguely remembered it from the news decades ago. As always Louise gives us things to think about and learn while entertaining us by Three Pines' vicarious fireplaces!
