Salted caramel ice cream sounds delicious! My favourite chocolate is milk chocolate with sea salt and caramel, from a specific Dutch brand. The chocolate has become very popular here and several ice cream shops have made ice cream with that chocolate. I want to try it!
I'm glad you're going to join us, Margo. I'll link to your thread in the "Quick Links thread" so that you can find it easily.
Peggy that sounds delicious! It's a good job I can't get that here - I'm bad enough as it is lolThanks Janice. I'm kinda regretting some of my answers now but theyre honest ;-p

Welcome from a fellow October baby and historical fiction lover! You are going to have fun choosing books for this challenge. Enjoy!
Suzanne wrote: "Welcome from a fellow October baby and historical fiction lover! You are going to have fun choosing books for this challenge. Enjoy!"I'm already having fun - this is such a clever and imaginative challenge!
You were asking about a book with Irish in it.. I recently read Star of the Sea, historical fiction set in the time of the Irish famine. There is a lot of Irish spoken by various characters (with the translations, luckily). I'm not sure whether this is your type of thing or whether you want to read such a long book. I found some of the descriptions heart wrenching... Not an easy subject to face up to (especially as an English person)
Annerlee wrote: "You were asking about a book with Irish in it.. I recently read Star of the Sea, historical fiction set in the time of the Irish famine. I have checked it out and it is available on kindle and audible. Thank you so much ;-D
No bother at all, glad I could help... BTW, I'll be interested to see what you come up with for your sloth book ; )
LOL That's another answer I now regret! I had just seen some in a David Attenborough documentary and thought they were the cutest thing ever. Why couldn't the darn program been about monkeys :-)
ah, found the ideal book for task 34. my answer was a slothe. slothes spend most lives sleeping so you could say they have A Sleeping Life!
Margo wrote: "ah, found the ideal book for task 34. my answer was a slothe. slothes spend most lives sleeping so you could say they have A Sleeping Life!"Clever! I'm impressed ; )
Although I'm not sure whether 'sloth' has to be in the title...? Maybe you can get special dispensation.

Yes, maybe tenuous! The only books I can fund with sloths on the cover ane kiddy books with about 30 pages. Oh well, plenty on time ;-)
Margo wrote: "Annerlee wrote: "Margo wrote: "ah, found the ideal book for task 34. my answer was a slothe. slothes spend most lives sleeping so you could say they have A Sleeping Life!"Clever! I'm..."
Seems valid, Margo, tho I'm not consulting the criteria for this task. Assuming you must love sleeping? Me too. As long as I'm having restful sleep with some good dreams.
I liked your creative answer for question 14 - toilet : ) Hmm, what to read for this? Seems open to lots of ideas tho. Political scene in US for one maybe, lol.
Tejas Janet wrote: "Margo wrote: "Annerlee wrote: "Margo wrote: "ah, found the ideal book for task 34. my answer was a slothe. slothes spend most lives sleeping so you could say they have A Sleeping Life!..."LOL politicics might a good option for that one all right but could I stomach it? At the moment when the news comes on I stick my fingers in my ears and sing loudly ;-)
Thanks for the heads up on the book Janice.
Task 28: COMPLETE 22nd Feb 20172/12 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Do you prefer Classic or Contemporary? Contemporary If Classic, read a book published in 1800 – 1899. If Contemporary, read a book published in 2000 – 2017
I finished Mr. Mercedes on 19th feb. I Used to be a big fan of King back in the day but after Needful Things I became disillusioned. This has been my first dip into a new King novel in many years and I had my doubts about the genre change but it worked. I've already bought the sequel.
I'm also claiming Lying in Wait for task 50 Read a book that was translated from that language to one you do speak. Or, chose a book where a character speaks that language. For example, if you chose Gaelic, you could read any of the books in the Outlander series. Most Irish people are, to some extent bilingual, speaking both Irish and English.
Well, that's 2 down ;-)
TASK 22 COMPLETE 1st Mar 20173/12 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Have you been in an accident? Yes If yes, read a book set in a hospital, or with the word “accident” in title. If no, read a book that is a thriller, in which an accident is a high probability.
I chose this book because Ruth, one of the 2 main characters, is a nurse and hence a large part of the story takes place in a hospital. I hope this satisfies the criteria :-)
Task 16: COMPLETE 1st Mar 20174/12 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
What is your favourite flavour ice cream? Salted caramel
Dust
looks very like salted caramel ice cream. It's a bit desturbing that once of my favourite guilty pleasures resembles dying body cells - maybe I can usemthis as aversion therapy ;-p
TASK 50 COMPLETE on 1st February 20171/12 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I listened to Lying in Wait by Irish author Liz Nugent. Ireland is a bilingual country i.e. English and Irish are spoken.
I have never come across a book where a character speaks Irish during the course of the book that isn't completely in Irish! I'm sure some exist but I've seen one. As I'm limited to audiobooks and kindle I don't that big a rang to chose from. The rule in Ireland is that all children under the age of 12 must learn Irish in school so it's reasonable to assume that the characters do speak the language! I arrived here at 13 so I didn't learn it.
UPDATE : Annerlee kindly suggested Star of the Sea but as Janice said this book was okay I'll let it stand.

Thanks Janice and Rusalka - you may live to regret those words ;-pTASK 25 COMPLETED - 7TH MAR 2017
5/12 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
What is your favourite genre? Historical fiction – Read a book in that genre Vlad: The Last Confession
I was toying between 4 or 5 stars Janice. There were a few battle scenes which I always find boring! I'm not an action person. I decided on 5 as I really liked the way the story was told :-)
TASK 44 COMPLETED ON 15th March 20176/12 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Do you prefer shoes or barefeet? Shoes
I listened to Die For You
. I really wouldn't recommend it as it was quite boring.
@Janice, I've just finished Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One and Two and discovered it is set around Halloween. Is it ok to use that for task 8, my favourite season (for which I answered Halloween )? I'm asking as it is a play rather than a novel but I read the print script.
TASK 8 COMPLETE on 18th Mar 20177/12 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
What is your favorite hollday? Halloween
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One and TwoA large part of the action in this play takes place at all hallows eve.
