What specific themes did the author emphasize throughout the novel? What do you think he or she is trying to get across to the reader? How did the author try to do this?

One of the themes were to be able to live of and be by them self. They can do things independently. What the author was I think trying to get across is put aside your differences you wont always have each other to depend on. You will most likely be by yourself some day. And the fact that you need to have a good relationship with others. The author showed this in many ways, like kids taking care of the little ones. Them having to survive.

A main theme in this book is that children can manage to stay alive without adults catering to their every need. The children were able to make their own food at the Mcdonalds and use the materials from places like the hardware store and other peoples homes. The older kids were able to take care of the toddlers and babies without the babies parents being there. I think the that yes children can live by themselves if they had to but adults are wanted for help. The author is trying to tell the readers how smart children actually can be without their parents.

I agree with how the author was trying to let people know they would have to put aside their differences and work together.

I think the author tried to get us to understand is that when an emergency happens, it's okay to panic and to be scared, but you should never give up. In the end the kids in the book had each other and even though at the beginning they were scared and worried, they worked together to make the FAYZ seem more like home. And even thought they haven't gotten out of the FAYZ yet, they will eventually if they just work hard and stick together.

I agree with you of the fact that they are all different but they didn't let that bother them instead they worked together as a team.
