Just to let you know that Dirt series two is now out most places!
It is set 500 years after series one and tells the tale of 17-year-old Silvi Farthing, a simple cheesemaker, and her battle to bring the Dragons home to her lands.
I have based her character loosely on the idea of Joan of Arc; another young woman who showed that age and gender should not be a barrier to leadership. Although the story is a glorious fantasy with plenty of fun and heartbreak, I touch regularly on issues of equality and the problems for women in a misogynistic world.
The series starts with Girls of Dirt which includes a recap of series one for those that want to start here.
