1) Suite Française (which I have had since at least 2008)
2) The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark (took out several times last year from the library but didn't get to reading it until 2017)
and am currently reading:
3) The Necklace and Other Tales (I have also had since 2008)
4) She's Come Undone (Since 2010 or earlier; gifted to me)
5) Cold Mountain (also one that I have owned for evvvvvveerr and a day and didn't get around to until this challenge)
6) Silk (procured this in my last year of University. Quick one-sitting read.)
7) Going to start Wuthering Heights as my new work read. Last time I read this was almost a decade ago.
8) The Hobbit
9) Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One and Two
10) Just started Labyrinth.
11) Rereading the Raven Cycle series to prepare for the FINAL ONE:
a) The Raven Boys

Do you mean, She's Come Undone?
If so, I liked it quite a lot. There are a few flaws and people (other reviewers) seem to vary wildly from 1 star to 5 stars. Don't let the 1 stars deter you, however, as this remains a fascinating, insightful and beautiful read. It can be really emotional and frustrating, which I think is part of its charm.
It is worth a shot and can be read quickly as one tends to fall into these type of books!

Congratulations! It's ginormous, isn't it? Now you only have 8 more to go (& each one longer than the last ...)

Kate, would you recommend reading all the rest? I have heard it's quite hit and miss. What do you think?

I want you to know this is strictly my opinion, and it's a minority one. When I first read Outlander I fell in love with it -- devoured it over a Labor Day weekend, and read the next 4 books as fast as I could get my hands on them. Then started all over again.
But I have to say that Outlander was the high point of the series for me, because I'm such a Scotophile (Caledoniaphile?) I love reading even fictionalized versions of Scotland before modern times (although the time travel bodice rippers also don't do much for me usually). As the books got longer and longer, and Claire & Jamie came to America, and the traveling through the stones got more & more bizarre with more & more people coming through (again, imho) I liked the books less and less, to the point that I haven't read the last two. I might if they fall in my lap but I'm not out hunting for them.
I should mention that I disliked DG's writing style more & more as I read more of the books. She imagines a scene or scenario and then has to come up with bridging action to link one scene to the next. I found that (for me) that style made the plots more choppy and somewhat disjointed. However, she is a better writer than a good many other published authors out there, so you could certainly do worse.
In the same way, I watched the first season of the tv series and loved it -- the scenery is gorgeous, and they followed the book pretty closely. The second year got more condensed and messed with so I gave it up. Also I didn't care for the casting: Sam Heughan is gorgeous and does a good job in the part, but he's not tall enough! Jamie always stood head & shoulders above everyone else, and Sam is only as tall as I am. Nor do I like Caitriona Balfe as Claire -- she's too slim, too much the lady to get her hands dirty -- at least she came across that way in the first season. Maybe she gets tougher & more substantial in the following seasons, but ...
Sssh! Don't tell my daughter -- she's a confirmed Outlander fan and would be stunned & horrified to find out I've fallen away from the faithful!
And sorry to be so long winded!

I want you to know this is strictly my opinion, and it's a minority one. W..."
Thanks for your opinion, Kate! I really loved reading your opinion on the series!

Recap: Drowning Ruth was a massive disappointment to me and I ended up skimming the rest.

I know that I will not meet my goal this year because I was so distracted by library books, but I will try again next year! I made a good dent in my at-home collection so far!

Taylor--you and me both. I misjudged my climbing ability this year...November reading completely fell apart and I don't see December getting any better with all the holiday distractions...
Glad you've made a good dent on the TBR pile!
