Well, the reason Hermione disliked it was because you coulden't improve by reading books (as Trelawney herself stated), and it was so fuzzy. And no, I still think it's a load of rubbish. For example, Harry never actually sees anything in the crystal balls except, as he so cleverly stated, 'there's going to be a load of fog tonight.' The rest were made up quite shamlessly. Another case in point: Although Trelawnley's speculations that Harry would die eventually came true, Professor Mcgonagall said that she predicted a student would die every year and so far none had yet. So yeah.

There has been a theory, which JK Rowling herself confirmed, that Ron has a secret divination talent and that his predictions that he makes in the lessons and in his homework have a lot more merit than he realises. Which of his predictions do you notice now which turned out to be accurate?
Why do you think Divination was the one type of magic that Hermione didn't like/take seriously?
