I've put out a story length (6,600 words) rhyming text on Kindle this week. I don't know whether I'm allowed to put up a link, but it's, The Terrible Trows by Mike Newman.
The storyline, format and length, fall between two stools, because the whole idea was to design a book which would appeal to boys who are often described as reluctant readers. So, where it also differs is that there are no illustrations because I didn't want the older child who is maybe struggling, to be patronised and faced with something which, obviously, looks like, 'a book for babies.'
I would be interested to know what others think, even of the storyline and tone that is displayed on the previewer - particularly those who are parents of reluctant readers, of course!

Thanks very much for taking the time out to read.
