I have the read the branch-off series, The Brotherband Chronicles, and it's not as good as the original but it is overall enjoyable. :)

(I just got my previous bookoutlet box 2 days ago, and I don't want to spend money again... what do I do?!?!)"If you can get it at a library, that's probably best. If you want to buy it, it's worth it, in my opinion, as even if you don't like the book it has great visuals and is gorgeous!

I loved it, too! My full review is here, but in short, it was a great story and so interesting! The whole setup was incredible. The sequel, Gemina, was equally interesting. Every ounce of the books was worth reading.
Willa wrote: "Hi! Has anyone else read Illuminae?"Yes. I read it last week. I almost didn't finish it *facepalm*
I LOATH zombie-esque anything but I stuck it out, and in the end, I'm glad I did. I just need to get my hands on Gemina to see where this series is going to go!

I'm so happy you managed to finish it! I understand completely about zombie-esque stuff. The whole Phobos thing bothered me a lot. The next book is a little bit like that, but not very much. I loved Gemina!
Willa wrote: "Hi! Has anyone else read Illuminae?"I have the book, but I haven't read it yet :( I will get to it though :)

I hope you enjoy it once you have it read! I thought it was a super interesting way to write a novel and the plot was excellent :)
Maggie wrote: "Sooo, what are all your goals for March? <3Mine is to read enough books to put to date my Goodreads reading challenge. I'm so behind, I barely read anything through January and February."
Saaame! I really hope to catch up to my reading goal! I have only read 2 books and that was the first week of January! I am definitely going to read more in March and hopefully this year :)

xD hopefully this group gets us on track :)
Hey guys, so as a Catholic, we fast from certain things during the important days leading up to Easter. This is called Lent. Lent begins this Wednesday, and I am going to be fasting from all video games, tv shows, and social medias. As a result, I will not be able to get on Goodreads for a time. I will be back on Easter, you ain't gettin' rid o' me that easily! :) And hopefully I will be closer to God when the time comes. Can't wait to see what happens with the group while I am gone!

Catherine, I think that that is a very good idea. I feel like I have been spending a bit too much time on Goodreads, so for the time of Lent, I, too, will reduce drastically my time here. I may still answer some comments, but not much, if anything, else. Instead, I hope I'll spend more time working on my next book. :)
Thanks, Maggie, for understanding. I do encourage you to limit Internet time; the Internet does tend to be a time suck. And I won't be reading March's book. I'm sorry, but it doesn't look like something interesting to me. :/ Even if I would like to read it, I'm kind of too busy to read something just for pleasure.
Thanks guys <3 Trying to take a leap of faith here :)Also, I was not able to get the book on time but I will be reading it as soon as I can get it. :)
Maggie wrote: "guys guys guys... I just bought Illuminae. I just couldn't resist x) I need to read it! (@Willa)I bought so many books ! I almost feel guilty... Hehe... Did you guys buy any book lately?"

Maggie wrote: "This is too silent xDWhat are you guys up to? What are your current reads? What are the books you think you'll get to in November?
And the best question of all.. What are your costumes for Hallo..."
Agreed. I'm currently trying to slam through some ARCs, so my current reads change daily. But the two big ones are A Wrinkle in Time (I'm doing a read-a-thon with the entire series before March 8th when the movie comes out!) I'm also reading The Handmaid's Tale, which I am absolutely LOATHING. But I'm looking forward to spending a week to review it (hopefully not that long, but I feel like it's going to be one of THOSE reviews, lol).
How about yourself?
I'm a little old for Halloween, but I'm debating to dress up my daughter in her traditional Romanian clothing, or as a ghost. She's taken a liking to walk around the house with a blanket covering her and laughing hysterically. *my heart*
Is anyone else here excited for Stranger Things Season 2? I am soooooo excited, I can't wait!!! I am decorating the inside of my house Stranger Things themed!! If you want to see peaks of it you can follow me on Instagram (@cindyangelica_54) I want to try to post some pictures of my work in progress ;)
Maggie wrote: "Right now I'm reading a series called The Lone Cities, it's a weird but marvelous plot :) I haven't dressed up for Halloween in years, I don't think I will this year either haha. People think I'm..."
Yeah Stranger Things is on Netflix and it's a really good show. It's about these 4 boys who are best friends and then one of them goes missing, the others try to find him but it turns into a whole big mystery involving another dimension, a terrifying monster and a strange girl. You should really watch, Season 2 comes out this Friday
