Yes! I'm hella excited as well! :D I'm spending next weekend at my granny's, so I won't have access to a computer (and it takes forever to write via phone), so would reading/ discussing it on wednesday & thursday work for you? :)
Hey,
unfortunately I am sick at the moment and I am feeling quite exhausted so I haven't found the time to start reading "The Winter's Tale" yet. I'll try to start this evening and will let you know how far I've come...
Happy Reading!

Kit, I feel like a horrible reading buddy, but I overestimated myself this week. In addition to my own sickness, my brother had a facial palsy, and I had to rush him to the hospital on Thursday, and then yesterday we were on our way to our grandma's and I didn't manage to read anything besides a stupid comic. :(
Long story short, I still haven't read the First Act, but judging from what I've read so far, I'm enjoying it. I think it's funny that Leontes' wife is called Hermione. :D I haven't grabbed what this play is supposed to be about, I assume adultery and jealousy, we'll see... ;) Sometimes I was shocked about the revealing things that some of the characters said (e.g. what Hermione said about being fond of Polixenes; or Leontes about knowing about his wife's desires), but then I read in the commentary that, despite the characters being on stage at the same time, it doesn't necessarily mean that they hear everything the others say. This really makes me wanna watch an adaptation of this play as well, because whilst reading I'm never able to picture the logic behind the stage/ setting...
I'll try and finish this until Sunday evening! *fingers crossed*

Yes, that sounds manageable, I'll let you know once I've finished it! I'll try to find an adaptation on YouTube! :D
Kit, I'm finally done with the play. I have no idea why it took me so long but now that I am all finished, I am more than ready to discuss it. Do you wanna go act by act or more like discussions of general themes etc? I also have some questions because I didn't understand certain scenes/ characters, and talking about them will probably help my comprehension of the play :D
Heeey Kit,
I hope school's going fine for you? :) Would you be interested in buddy-reading "Henry V" in the second half of June (or the first half of July)? It's the last Shakespeare play on my TBR, and I would love to tackle it soon. :D
Happy Reading!

Kit, I'm truly blessed with your loyal soul! Let's settle for the weekend June 30 - July 2 then? That would work well for me! :)

I'm leaning towards "The Winter's Tale" because I'm intrigued by the stage direction 'Exit, pursued by a bear'. ;) So if you're down for that, I'd be very happy!
