I finished the book a little bit ago...I just could not put this down today. I'll share my final thoughts in the proper section, so I don't spoil anything. : -)
So just finished up Chapter 10 not sure what to think. Marget has become one of my favorite characters her and Toti, I am glad that they have actually been there for Agnes. It is horrible that the Reverend is sick and unable to convey that he is sick to Agnes leaving her to believe he has deserted her. He seems to have become very attached to her at this point also which I wonder if his father will address.
I am still have not found out yet what happened that night but I am getting close. She seems to really be in love with Natan who is such a despicable person to me. I am not sure if he is just a male who enjoys many women or is mentally unstable. It is as if he is doesn't trust that Agnes isn't sleeping with other men. When all along he is sleeping with Sigga and her. I am actually surprised at the end of chapter 10 that Agnes seemed to have no idea they were having sexual relations.
At the end of this chapter I can see Agnes becoming hardened towards Sigga and Natan although she does love him. She has been through so much in her life.
I forgot to stop after Ch 10 and write. I just got so caught up in the story that I kept going. So I will skip writing here other than to say I was so captivated by the telling of her story. I detest Natan and how he took advantage of Agnes. I don't think he ever truly cared for her. He's so selfish and power hungry.
