Karin 4 stars!

his was a delightful find. I was looking for something for a challenge, and since this wasn't large took it out. It was a library binding of the ORIGINAL 1871 book, with the pages in delicate condition.

I was expecting something dry and boring, after all, it's a 19th century book about birds. Instead, it was a rather delightful book about birds. Not a text book and no lovely illustrations, but it was fun to read--his use of language was enjoyable, and I wish I still had it so I could quote some of it. It would make a great audiobook if someone added bird calls, but it was enjoyable and would be for anyone who simply enjoys literary license with language (no factual errors here, at least if there are any, it's not done on purpose).
