The spooky month is upon us. Any creepy books you're planning on reading this week to get you into that Halloween mood? Any scary recommendations?

I think I want to finish a series, so I might try to finish The Young Elites series by Marie Lu or the Obsidian series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I'll update later in the week with whichever I choose!

Hannah | 8 comments I recently bought the young elites series because it was on sale. Is it any good?

Duskangelreads | 27 comments I completely forgot about when this was held this month! And I haven’t read anything in the last two days! 😩
I will be picking up Zero Repeat Forever tomorrow though hopefully. I don’t think it will fit any of the challenges I have left though.

Sam M. | 14 comments So I may have accidentally... stopped reading this past month?? Honestly, just getting out of this slump is my goal for the week.

Mothpit If the Goddess of Productivity smiles upon me, this will be my week.

First challenge I am having a go at is the one about series. I started one, a Hungarian one titles Rémálom könyvek ("Nightmare books" in English). The first book is 9...8...7... and, oh boy, it's bad. Like, stabbed in the heart by a favourite childhood author bad. But it is creepy, like "dystopian version of my city where it is mandatory to be possessed by a nasty demon that will fuck up your life". creepy. The demons in it lean out the bodies they possess through the mouth and eyes, actually clutching at the lower eyelid. The scariest part though is that even with this the book manages to be unoriginal. Will put the book's cover in when I finish it.

Amber (ambersworld08) As much as I would like to read a spooky book, I’m not right now. I’m reading Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body by Roxane Gay for a group read along so I’m going to use this time to push myself to get through it faster so I can get to the spooky books :)

BlurryBug | 30 comments I'm going for spooky books this month, though I read The Mysterious Affair at Styles and Archie, Vol. 1: The New Riverdale.
I plan to start Asylum today and hopefully get to a second of my scary books.

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 1 comments This is such a cool idea, completing one challenge every month! Wish I'd found it start of the year! I'll definitely participate next year! Getting into the swing of the readathons :p
