Realities collide

I've read this book twice. I must say, Philip K. Dick always manages to make me think about his stories a lot even after I finished them, even if a long time has passed already. This is no exception. When I first read it I had to sit down for a while to think what just happend. I knew how the story ended, I understood what happend to the characters, but still there was something off, some lack of information, the unknown. I'm going to explain it, but please, if you haven't read the novel yet, don't go any further, cause there'll be some spoilers. You've been warned. Here's what I mean.
If I'm not mistaken, this break in reality starts when Eldritch takes Leo Bulero to his creation through the Chew-Z drug: a dimension where he controls everything and where he can be whoever he wants. In fact, he even takes the form of a girl and of Doctor Smile. Okay, I got that. The story develops in a way that makes you think: after this scene, we'll be back at the true reality. And it happends. Kind of.
There's a scene where Bulero tells Doctor Smile to contact with Barney. He tells him to ask for help, and then, you know no more about that message. But when Leo wakes up from Eldritch hallucination (if it was an hallucination at all (another topic)), you get a scene where Barney and Roni are aware of Leo's situation in the moon. And who told them? Doctor Smile!
From there on I wasn't completely sure if Leo woke up or not. And if he didn't, that means that the Barney we are following wasn't real, but a manifestation of Eldritch's will, a simulation of what he wanted to do. If you think about it, it makes sense for him. If he hadn't done that, he wouldn't know what Leo Bulero's plans were. So, if he somehow kept Leo in his fake reality, and made him think he was free, he could see his behaviour outside and come up with a counterattack, There's a problem, obviously. Bulero wouldn't use the same plan as he did in the simulation, so, there's that. And also, if Eldritch was the one behind that world, why did Leo see a future where he stopped him? Was it Eldritch's way to encourage him?
It's really difficult to follow a thought in this matter without getting crossed ideas. But let's think then again that Leo isn't awaken from that part of the story. Chew-Z seems to have an special ability to warp time, and partially space (as seen in the ghost version of Leo and Barney). If that happend, wouldn't it change the future the fact that Leo and Barney and also Eldritch saw what was coming?
Okay, time to stop. I really have a lot of ideas 'bout what happend, even one where Eldritch never came back to the solar sistem in the first place. Maybe he's still in Proxima, in another's dream world. And also, he isn't Eldritch, isn't he? Anyway, the novel gives you a lot to think about, and that's why I love Philip K. Dick so much.
So, what do you guys think happend? Was it all just a simulation of Eldritch? Was it reality? And if so, how did all of Eldritch's manifestation spilled to the real world if the other people in earth hadn't tried the drug yet?
Well, here's a thing: maybe Proxima's habitants are one big mind, unified, and to comunicate, it unifies others to his own. So, in order to have contact with earth, they used the first of their kind that they had contact with: Eldritch. It surely reminds me of Rick and Morty's Unity, and also Penumbra's Tuunrgait. But okay, now for real, time to stop.

Let me know what do you guys think.
