All monsters come from two basic groups: Heaven/Hell and Purgatory. We all know what Heaven and Hell are (even though they are more or less what you would expect them to be), but not everyone knows about Purgatory. Purgatory is a place where a "girl" named Eve resides. She is what some call The Mother of Monsters. She gave birth to everything from Werewolves to Leviathans. This is where all of the monsters get sent when they die. Here are a list of most of these monsters. (will be updated frequently)
HEAVEN/HELL
• Demons - As you would expect, demons are from Hell. They are actually the souls of humans that have been sent to the underworld to be tortured and mangled until they turn into something evil. They travel from place to place as a black smoke and take over human bodies. When they take over a body, they can do as they like with it. Even if the body dies, the demon can still reside inside. The only ways to get a demon out is to either exorcise it or kill it with a demon killing blade or a blade that kills angels (weird, but true). Demons are put into levels by their eye color. If a person says something like "Christo," a demon will show their true eyes. Demons are also hurt by iron and holy water. A demon can be trapped somewhere by using a devil's trap. (view spoiler)[

• Angels Angels are the warriors/messengers of God. They are not human souls. They were created by God. (But no one knows where God is. Not event the angels) They reside in Heaven, which is a strange place that looks rather like a high tech business building or something. There are archangles like Michael and there are lower angels like Gabriel (the Trickster), Cupid, and Castiel. For an angel to come down to Earth, they usually need a human host. An angel's natural form is roughly the size of the Empire State Building. The human host has to accept the angel to use their body. The human will have no control over anything that is going on and will not remember a single thing that happens to them. The toll an angel takes on a human body is massive. There are some wards to keep angels away (usually done in blood) and they can be killed with an angel killing blade.
PURGATORY
• Vampires: Definitely not your traditional vampire like Edward or even Dracula. They do feast on human blood, but they don't have two fangs. They actually have a second set of teeth that descend from their gums when they are going to feed or fight. Vampires have sharp senses and are extremely fast and strong. If bitten by a vampire, you have 12 hours to drink the blood of the vampire that bit you to be cured of your vampirism. Otherwise, you're pretty much screwed.
• Werewolves: Not usually what you would think of a werewolf. Lycanthropy is spread through bites, just like vampirism. These werewolves look just like normal people unless they get bloodlust or cannot control themselves under the full moon. They will grow claws where their nails should be, their teeth will become long and sharp, their strength will at least triple, and many will loose control over themselves. Werewolves are hurt by silver.
• Skinwalkers: They're actually very similar to werewolves. The difference is that instead of turning into a wolf/human hybrid thing, Skinwalkers actually turn into a type of animal (typically a dog). A lot of them pass off as pets in the houses of humans. Like werewolves, silver hurts them.
• Wendigo: These guys are nasty. They actually once started off as humans (we believe). The reason these guys turned into monsters is because they turned to cannibalism. The consumption of human flesh twists humans to become monsters. They no longer look like humans either. They grow taller, faster, and have claws. They usually live in forests and inside of mines. They prey on the unwary hikers and explorers. Wendigo hate fire and things like flares will hurt them pretty badly or kill them.
• Leviathans: These guys are kind of nasty. I mean, they tried to take over the world, remember? They are extremely vicious and will eat just about anything. They're entire heads pretty much turn into one giant mouth with sharp teeth and a snake-like tongue. They are fast, strong, and pretty much indestructible. Their blood is black, too. One of the only ways to hurt these guys is to cut off limbs or the head or use Borax on them.
Other
• Ghosts: They are spirits trapped on Earth for one reason or another. Many of them have an item that they have attached themselves onto and will not go away until that item is destroyed. Some of them are just vengeful spirits that wont stop until their bodies are salted and burned. One way to temporarily get rid of a ghost is to hit them with pure iron. Another way to keep them away from you is to put a line of salt between you and them.
• Reapers: Well, they aren't really monsters. They're actually pretty cool. They do the business of Death. He has a list of people that need to die and the Reapers pretty much just take the souls either to Heaven or to Hell. They are actually spirits of people who have passed on before.
• Witches: Pretty much exactly what the name says, but you aren't all old hags with warts and frizzy gray hair. You usually live with a coven or at least hang out with them. You look like any other person in the world, but you are able to use magic. Your magic usually comes from demons and other evil things so witchcraft is extremely dangerous. Witches sometimes have Familiars.
• Familiars: Familiars are companions to witches. They are pretty much like Skinwalkers, but less animalistic. They are able to change form from animal to human flawlessly and without loosing their clothing. They are there to help their witch and will do just about anything for them. They can communicate telepathically with their witch.
• The Fae: These guys are faeries. There is a surprising amount of different kind of faeries. They actually come from a different dimension and reality. They serve a Fae King in the world called Avalon. Different kinds of faeries include Tinks, Leprechauns, Redcaps, and more. Humans can use spells to summon and trap faeries to do their bidding. One way to catch a faerie is to set out a bowl of cream for them to drink. It has the same effect as alcohol does on humans. Faeries are sometimes mischievous and dangerous. Redcap faeries are extremely homicidal and will often try to kill travelers. Other faeries can be good. Some are even called 'Good Faeries.' Their powers range from casting spells to telekinesis, teleportation, soul reading, invisibility, apporting, and shapeshifting (though, the different forms can only be seen by someone who has been to Avalon). Fae are almost always extremely beautiful.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
