Romantic novels with simple stories about romantic relationships between men and women.

I always felt (and still feel) that the stories are the same...just the name keeps on changing...:|

Yes, the stories really do follow a similar pattern.

Recently read The Veranchetti Marriage (Lynne Graham Collection, #1) by Lynne Graham by Lynne Graham. A recommended read for those who like second chance romances and a faithful hero.

These days Harlequin/Mills and Boon owns so much of the market, you'd be surprised. I'm not a fan of the Billionaire/Sheikh/Tycooon books, but a lot of very popular authors write for them and you wouldn't even know.

There're a lot of negative stereotypes attached to the brand, but they're very different now from even five years ago.

Some big Harlequin authors include Gena Showalter , Robyn Carr , Julia London , Susan Mallery ...

And some of the best historical romances I've ever read have been Harlequin books - much better and more imaginative than the books being put out by big publishers like Avon and Zebra.

I know a lot of the books follow a formula, but there are some great authors around these days, like Sarah Mayberry and newcomer Stefanie London .

Aishee Thank you Ipshita for starting a conversation about these books. I don't like the modern ones much but the old ones are gems.

~~Poulomi Sylphrena Tonk$~~ | 107 comments I like the Historical Romances under Harlequin. They satisfy my hunger for romances after every book from a different genre. :P

I hate the new ones though! :|
