This one had a slow start but got much better as the book progressed.

I’ve read about half and it really has been slow going. Lots of dead animals and guns. We just had a gigantic war between factions of a tribe so now we have LOTS of dead humans. My impression so far is pretty brutal.

The second half does get better, as they get closer to the treasure. I didn't like the hunting scenes either.
