One theme that pops up a few times in Attachments (and many other romances) is the idea of "love at first sight." However, Attachments also asks us if love BEFORE first sight is possible! Discovering and communicating with new people without ever meeting them is becoming more accessible and more common as digital technology advances.

I think that whether you agree with "love at first sight or not" largely depends on how you define love. So, what is your current understanding of "love"? You may not have a refined definition, and that's okay! I don't either! Just do your best to explain your ideas ^.^

With that understanding in mind, do you think it's possible to experience that with someone you meet for the first time?

Love is like un upgrade on friendship. It's also related with passion. So, it's a combination of both friendship and passion. So, I've got a pretty logical way of thinking about love and I base in in friendship and passion as two different sides of it. I don't believe love is a feeling but it is a combination of feelings and decisions that may lead to the wish of sharing a lifetime with someone else.
I think it's hard to experience love before meeting someone for the first time because I understand love as a long lasting situation and I can't imagine knowing if I want to be with someone for a long time without meeting that person first. It's not about looks, even though the passion part may be, but it's about how we communicate with each other in real life. If we do things that we both enjoy together and if it's better to do them together instead of alone.
