LibreVox has a very nice collection of Thomas Hardy audio books available free: https://librivox.org/author/92?primar...

Since LibreVox collects books that are in the public domain, you may find that not all their titles are professionally done. However, the last book I listened to through them had a full cast reading various parts, so you never know.

I'm finding that the best way to listen on my Android phone is to use the RSS feed link through a podcast app like Podcast Addict. If you have an iPhone, you might find listening through iTunes to be the easiest option.

Happy listening!

If you find other great sources, feel free to drop a note.

Would anyone like to share about their audiobooks of Thomas Hardy? Do you have some CDs? Who are they narrated by? Or do you prefer audio dramatisations, such as those on BBC radio?

Yes, I realised it was worth developing this old thread from just one post, when you mentioned you were listening to a recording of Tess of the D’Urbervilles in a different thread.

So can you tell us about the one you're listening to please, Dorothy?

I can get a recording on a DAISY disc (like a souped-up CD) through the RNIB. (That's a British organisation of the visually impaired.)

If anyone would like details, please let me know here.

Tr1sha | 14 comments There’s a new collection just published in the UK in November: Thomas Hardy BBC Radio Drama Collection (8 books plus 2 short stories). It looks interesting, but may be expensive unless you have Audible membership. I’m thinking about it…

Oh yes! And what a great Christmas present that would make! Thanks for the heads-up Trisha.
