The only Kameron Hurley I've read is God's War, but I can totally see the parallels between the biopunk thing that she does. In God's War there was a lot 'bugs' about which reminds me a bit of (view spoiler)

Jon, I think you're totally right that: 'This is the kind of book that probably needs to be read two or three times to make all of the connections.'

That's a much better understanding of the viruses than I managed. I like it; makes a lot of sense. :)
