Hello everyone,

My name is Melanie Chen. I have just finished The Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man and absolutely loved it! It was somewhat hard to understand but I look forward to reading all his work.

I was wondering if I could get a conversation going about the plot and characters? Just wanted to hear some opinions!

It was a while ago since I read it, but I remember really, really enjoying the main character and his thought processes. I also remember being impressed by one of the early family dinner conversations about politics and religion... I loved the themes throughout this book!

It wasn't exactly an easy read for me either. Do we feel ready to tackle Ulysses yet? :)
I hope more people reply so that I can come back to this discussion and reminisce!
