((Cheerleading practice!))Ashley strolled out onto the field with a bag of uniforms and pom-poms. She checked the time and took a drink of water. Those who made try-outs had five minutes to show up.
(( Cheerleading Practice))Catalina walked onto the field with her bag and water bottle. She hadn't seen anybody on the way down to the field and was wondering if she was going the wrong way. She looked around and noticed Ashley and Cat walked towards her. "Is this where cheerleading practice is?" She asked.
((Is Amira going to show up? I think that'll be interesting.))"Yep!" Ashley told her. "We'll be starting in a few." She tossed a set of pom-poms to Catalina and put chapstick on before pulling a set of her own out. "It's Catalina, right?"
Amira walked onto the large field, her head high as her cane whacked around on the ground near her in quick, calculated movements. A friend had tied her light blonde hair up in a bun high up on her head before giving her loose black exercise tee and short navy blue athletic shorts. Her eyes were closed, as always, and a smile stretched across her lips, as always, as she neared the sound of voices. "This is cheerleading, correct?" she asked, tilting her head in the general direction of where she assumed the people to be.
((Let's just continue. I was waiting on Zuri but she's off for a bit.))Ashley nodded, and then realized Amira couldn't see her. "Yes, this is it," she told her, biting her lip. She thought Amira already didn't like her and she didn't know if she would guess why she paused before answering.
((May Merlin join, since she is now a cheerleader?))
Jogging in, Merlin had just come from her dorm hoping she didn't get the wrong directions from the bulletin board. She was going so fast, she didn't have time to double check, thankfully Merlin saw some other girls there as well. "This is cheerleading practice, right?" She asked , just doubke checking. Her dark brown hair was pulled up into a pony tail, and she was wearing some workout shorts along with a nice tank top.
Ashley turned around and slid a smile back on her face. "Yep, you're in the right place," she confirmed. She tossed pom-poms to all the girls and set hers down next to her. "I think this is everyone," she decided. "Let's warm up with some stretches."
Elzie walked up to the soccer field. She had no idea what she was going to do here with Shen, but now is the time for her to just "hang out", maybe make some friends. Thick blankets of clouds started to roll in as the sky darkens a little. She really hopes it doesn't rain...
There was still no rain, though it would be very likely. Elzie looked up at the sky, then heard the thunder. A bit tense, Elzie asks, "You're still wearing shorts? It's been like 15℃/59℉ this whole week!" She continued to look upward, seeing a flash of lighting, though still not a drop of rain.
Thunder cackled the dark sky, creating a cacophony of sound, while lightning flashed, blinding unsuspecting eyes...At least, that was how Elzie liked to describe it. "Uh huh, sure." She was also too preoccupied with trying to get to safety. The best option was still to go indoors, though it was too far, even for them to sprint back. They would have to risk it, but first test the flash-to-bang method. "Do you know the flash-to-bang method to test how far away the storm is? It looks like it's a big one..."
((It's okay!))"Yeah, um, let's count." As the next lightning flash, Elzie started to count in her head. One, two, thr-. BOOM! Before she could even count to three, the sky thundered. "We need to get to an area that has a dip, kind of like a valley. Is there anything like that here?"
Elzie looked towards the field, hoping Shen's idea will work. "Okay, we could try to go there." The thunder seems to just keep getting louder and louder. "We're probably going to miss class..."
Elzie began to follow Shen, feeling the squishiness of the mud. Suddenly, her foot caught on a rock, and she tripped. No! I shouldn't be touching the ground! She got up quickly before the there were anymore lightning flashes.
"Yeah... How are you fairing?" Elzie tried, unsuccessfully, to wipe the mud off her clothing. She could barely hear Shen, having to shout to get her message across. The sky looked even darker than the night, and she was soaked wet head to toe. Suddenly, lightning flashed, and it struck a tree somewhere not too far from the field. "Did you see that?!"
Elzie tripped again, but this time it sent her tumbling down. Now her entire body was soaked, her hair filled with mud, and now she was having a headache.
"Yeah... I'm fine, thanks." Elzie tried to catch up with Shen without slipping again. She looked up towards the sky. It didn't look like the sun would come up for a while, and in fact, the storm looked even worse than before. Now she was going to get into trouble with the teachers, wash off all the dirt on her body, and possibly try not to get killed. Elzie hated crying, and usually never do, especially in front of someone, but at least the rain could obscure it right now.
"Um, I don't know. We could try to walk back??" The storm was not clearing, though, and it would be risky to walk back to the building. But... They were probably going to either die or catch pneumonia anyway if they stayed out there.
((Yeah, that'll be cool! Then perhaps they would probably end up all getting sick anyway.))"Yeah, I guess we better get going then." Elzie looked at her shoes, which were already sunk deep into the mud. She started to trudge upwards, her shoes squishing into the mud, which was turning into something like quicksand. Elzie sniffed back the snot coming out of her nose. She looked at Shen, though he didn't look any better than she was.
((Also sorry for the late reply! Maybe the library?? I don't really care which one we go to.))After finally getting onto the straight path, for what seemed like hours, Elzie was out of energy. Her nose was blocked, her clothes completely soaked, and it seemed impossible that she wasn't going to catch a cold. Shen was already sneezing. As Elzie looked up from walking, she saw a building in front of her.
((Which one do you want to go to? I'm okay with any.))"Thanks," Elzie said as Shen opened the door for her. Attempting to squeeze the water out of her shirt, Elzie turned around to face Shen. "Where should we go now?"
