Marty Reynolds comes across an adorable beagle named Shiloh and instantly forms a bond. But then he finds out that Shiloh belongs to Judd Travers, a man who drinks too much and abuses dogs. Marty is willing to do anything to protect Shiloh, which just might cost him and his family their safety as well.
My kids were angry when we read this book, and I don't have a lot of books that strike that kind of emotion in students. And that's what I loved about it. Kids connect with Marty and they connect with Shiloh as well. Boys and girls liked this book equally and everyone was invested in what was going to happen to Marty and Shiloh. Great read!
