Poetry Writing Contests discussion

So we're going to start off with something simple, a short poem. The only rules are it has to be around 50 words, and still be just as deep. This can totally be hard to get your meaning across with so few words, but it'll make for a fun challenge. (Bonus points if it's below 25 xP)

So I'm super bored so Ima make a cute little poem

sun+moon

I think the sun and moon
are siblings,
begrudgingly
giving the other turns
playing with the earth

Another sweet little poem

goodbye

there aren't enough words invented
for me to show how much my love is true
but I am poison to you,
so there's only one for how I need to say it -
"goodbye"

Instability seems to
Wash away
Inside so many.
Lunacy and
Limitless power feigned as
Supremacy is felt but
Underneath the
Reasons take root.
Vivid moments
Initiate flashes of
Vitality but we are not
Everlasting.

Ever emptying thoughts abound in the reckless night
And faceless we circle this
Gaunt earth
Walking its wide shallow bones

Fake pearl

Not worth anything
Just pretending
Fake and not even trying to hide it
Totally unabashed scamming
No history of forming through struggles and hardship
Down in the depths of the earth
Gauche replication
But you have to admit
Beautiful still, aren’t I

The sun fell for the moon
But the moon already loved the stars
And every night she died
Just to see the joy in her love's face
As she danced among the cosmos
Because she loved watching her smile

It's cool that you're willing to take yourself out of your comfort zone though...an the ellipsis add a sense of something unfinished, which I like, because when you're pining after someone you love sometimes the story is never finished...I like it

The moon grumbles, darkening the day
Up above, haunting away
The sun shines, bright and cheerful
The prey of the moon, fast and fearful

Racing across today's wide sky
Amongst the clouds, hiding, shy
The moon, faded, but still in pursuit
Chasing sun, following same route

wow almost went over the limit XD

Above the dangers
Birds fly high
How I wish I could be them
Inside, I sigh

I'm calling this poem Mistakes:

I hold a knife drenched in death
blood drips on the floor
lifeless body at my feet
I can't take back what I've done

Breathe

Every breath,
it's hard to take.
Simply because,
my smile is fake.

Just breathe,
they tell me it helps.
Yet it hurts to do so,
All i can do is yelp

You guys are amazing

Victim

I turn to my lover
and get a knife in my heart
I see his face, my blood
then black takes over


(so this is like a sequel to the other short poem I submitted. the first poem is from the point of view of the murderer. and this is from the POV of the victim)

The moon is like a silvery reminder
That even when we're tired
We can still be strong enough
To move oceans of water,
Because we shine just like the stars

You should just give it a try. I know you prefer to write longer poems, but give it a try.

Each day I say a little less;
get a little more fluent in
the art of silence.

We are so in love,
