I am so looking forward to this! Must. Make. Myself.WAIT. Until. March. 20. :D
Book pulled... ready to start reading tomorrow ( if I finish Hunted) or Tuesday!
I just grabbed my copy too!!so....looks like we don't have chapter numbers
how should we tackle reading this and checking (updating) so we know we're at the same spot??
Do you have a hard copy? I do.....if you do, we can go by page count?

I also have a hardcover but I saw that some of the 'chapters' have a name so we could try to go by that or even by % if Lisa doesn't have a hardcover.
I have a hardcover copy too. :)
oooh, it also looks like the book is Broken into Parts &there are 4 parts - so we'd come back to update/comment 5 times.
How does that sound? Much easier than working out pages! lol
I love the little bit of Korean at the beginning of the book where she talks about her grandmother. It allowed me to practice my Hangul. love was harder than grandmother but I got it! :D
So I'm just over half done and so far it's reminding me of Labrynth. I loved the movie so it's a good thing but it was not what I was expecting. :/
Ok.. I am actually starting this today! I got behind on my previous read. I am looking forward to lunchtime so I can start.
So... I decided I could read the little Overture at the beginning of the book before classes started.... and WOW, what a great first line (really paragraph) to start a book! Hooked--- hope to stay that way! (Now REALLY counting down until lunch!)
After the Overture, it felt a little slow and I had to get my bearings, but now I am invested in this story hook, line and sinker! I relate to the main character and being someone who loved the movie LABYRINTH, as soon as The Goblin King starts showing up, I got all the feels I did from the movie. (view spoiler) The language in this book is lovely and thought-provoking. Like this line, (view spoiler). (view spoiler) I am looking forward to the rest of this book!
Update: After reading the next little section, maybe (view spoiler) I would like that, I'll admit LOL!

Ok... twists and turns! Wow. Internezzo (p.87-114) Disregard most of what I said in my previous comment lol. (view spoiler)
Part 3... I have no words. Just feelings-compassion, sadness, happiness, anger, forgiveness, confusion, understanding. I want this to work out with a fairy tale ending, but not sure that can happen.
Hope!!! I have hope!!! (view spoiler) I have tears.... and 77 pages until the end! This book is just one emotional, beautiful ride!
Wow. The ups and downs of this journey. I see it as a stand alone book, but in my head and heart, I want more... (view spoiler) but it ends where it needs to end. I really enjoyed this read!
Maddison wrote: "I want to read this but I need to read my other books first XD"It's pretty good, I was getting a bit of A cruel prince/ACOMAF vibe from it so far
Maddison wrote: "Oh wow! XD Apparently it's a Labyrinth retelling, and I love that movie growing up."I didn't know that!! And I haven't seen that movie.
Maddison wrote: "Also did you know ToG started off as a Cinderella retelling? XD"Yep I knew that haha
I think it's weird so far. And I don't like how the girls talked to their grandmother.I can't wait to find out about the Goblin King. (view spoiler)
Still trying to work on this book. I'm only at 13%. I'm just not that intrigued right now. I need something to happen to make me want to continue reading. -.-
Okay so the chapters aren't really numbered or anything. I just got to "Intermezzo". Not really sure what that means. But I'm at 19%

All her life, nineteen-year-old Liesl has heard tales of the beautiful, mysterious Goblin King. He is the Lord of Mischief, the Ruler Underground, and the muse around which her music is composed. Yet, as Liesl helps shoulder the burden of running her family’s inn, her dreams of composition and childish fancies about the Goblin King must be set aside in favor of more practical concerns.
But when her sister Käthe is taken by the goblins, Liesl journeys to their realm to rescue her sister and return her to the world above. The Goblin King agrees to let Käthe go—for a price. The life of a maiden must be given to the land, in accordance with the old laws. A life for a life, he says. Without sacrifice, nothing good can grow. Without death, there can be no rebirth. In exchange for her sister’s freedom, Liesl offers her hand in marriage to the Goblin King. He accepts.
Down in the Underground, Liesl discovers that the Goblin King still inspires her—musically, physically, emotionally. Yet even as her talent blossoms, Liesl’s life is slowly fading away, the price she paid for becoming the Goblin King’s bride. As the two of them grow closer, they must learn just what it is they are each willing to sacrifice: her life, her music, or the end of the world.
