Suicide claims more lives than war, murder, and natural disasters combined..over 44,000 suicides in 2015 alone:
From the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (http://www.theovernight.org/?fuseacti... )
Over half the people who commit suicide suffered from depression.
Depression is common in survivors of abuse and trauma.
Depression is the most treatable of all psychiatric illnesses.

These are not just cold facts, most of you readers have either suffered some form of abuse, been affected by depression, or have had friends and family members who have suffered from depression, and even suicide.

The triple effects created by The Three-Headed Monster: Childhood Trauma, Addictions, and Mental Illness; are often deeply rooted in dysfunction.

A few Goodreads Authors who have successfully tackled aspects of the Three-Headed Monster: K.L. Randis, Dave Pelzer, Ellen Bass, Lundy Bancroft, Liz Murray, and Maya Angelou. The list goes on, however, these few have presented a new level of awareness about the personal and private damage done by abuse and dysfunction; particularly during childhood.

My Question: How have you been affected?

I have written several essays and memoirs, many news articles, blogs and public awareness articles to raise awareness about the danger of ignoring the effects of dysfunction on children. I have lost a daughter to suicide four years ago; her best friend from her childhood had her funeral today. I am pretty sure it was either suicide or an overdose that was more intentional than not.

Not all cases are so extreme. The effects of dysfunction on the lower range of behaviors, still causes great pain and damage in the form of damaged self esteem, and poor relationship management, to say the least.
