When Wendy Everly was six-years-old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. It isn't until eleven years later that Wendy discovers her mother might have been right.

With the help of Finn Holmes, Wendy finds herself in a world she never knew existed - a world both beautiful and frightening, and Wendy's not sure she wants to be a part of it.

This also sounds really interesting.

I'm running behind, but just started this! :)

Chapter 3

I'm not really into this yet... It feels like something I would have enjoyed several years ago, but find a little juvenile now. The characters are falling flat and the author spends more time describing how they look than their interaction. Interaction between Finn and Wendy so far has been really jumpy.

Chapter 6

(view spoiler)[ I'm really not enjoying this so far... If feels like a bunch of paranormal cliche's thrown together. Finn's character makes no sense to me and he keeps flip-flopping around. Wendy doesn't seem to have much of a personality besides reminiscing over how she doesn't fit in and never has. Matt seems WAYYY too overprotective of Wendy and the whole dynamic seems unhealthy. Maggie seems sweet, but I know nothing about her?

Very interested in the troll dynamic as it's the part of this that's really original and I can't wait to see more of the mythology. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 10

(view spoiler)[ I knew Rhys was Michael! Wendy keeps flip flopping between having crushes on Rhys and Finn. And she keeps flip-flopping with what she thinks of Kim. (hide spoiler)]

Review: (view spoiler)[I had a hard time deciding on the rating of this book. I like the concept of the book. Trolls and changelings. But I didn't really like any of the characters. They were at least not really annoying but I wasn't really rooting for anyone either.

I did however feel bad for Wendy even if her attitude was annoying at times. I can't believe that a mother would ever harm her child and not feel sorry about it. It seems that the mothers in this series are lacking.

I was glad that Wendy had her brother and her aunt to help her even if she ended up in trouble so much of the time. I wonder why she seemed to be the only changeling who had difficulties in the human world? Is she actually a brat or was she influencing people with her persuasion into disliking her because she didn't like herself?

The novella at the back was really interesting. I hope I see more about the Vittra in the second and third book. :) (hide spoiler)]
