The Sherlockians! discussion

Has anyone read this, and is it worth the buying?? I still have not seen the film yet.

The film was based primarily on Stephen Knight's "Jack the Ripper: The Final Solution", (1976) which presented the "Royal conspiracy" theory that was, I believe, expanded upon in "From Hell."
I thought the film did a creditable job, Plummer was very good and I think Mason was an underrated Watson - very high on my list, with David Burke at the top. And Genevieve Bujold was excellent as poor Annie Crook.
Offhand, I know of four books that pit Holmes against Jack the Ripper - I'm sure there are more.
