YES! Without a doubt. I left FB because of all the nonsensical chatter and gossip. Here on GR's at least MOST people act civil and talk about things that actually matter. I'm not by any means bashing FB or saying that it's ALL bad. Quite to the contrary. It's just I feel more at home here and my friends actually seem like REAL friends.

☆Joycedale☆ | 307 comments I still have fb but mostly just to keep up with family I don't get to see. I talk way more with friends and strangers on here because its stuff I'm actually interested in.

My only sibling lives in Texas and I live about 1600 miles away from her, so I do go on FB to talk to her and my nephews/wives.

I'm still on FB but I'm a proud GR addict. I feel like GR is my second family. I've met so many great people here over the years.

Sam Arnold (samharnold) I go through stages depending on what else is going on. Sometimes I am on here everyday other times a couple of times a week.

Gregor Xane (gregorxane) | 106 comments I am addicted. In 'real life' there aren't many people I run into who actually like to read. It's good to find a place where everyone does.

message 7: by Nikki (new)

Nikki Yes! I have found so many more books that I want to read, that I often have trouble deciding which one to start next!

Yes, and personally I feel people on here talk with a much higher level of intelligence on the whole.

Agreed.

Holly | 140 comments I have a FB page, but I rarely go on it.

LOVE GR!!! It's like my second home. Lol :-D

Sam Arnold (samharnold) Holly I find GR a really friendly place. I don't have any friends on her that I have met in person but still I chat to such a lovely range of people.

Jim Vuksic I joined Goodreads in November, 2013, at the behest of my marketing representative, who encourages authors to actively participate in at least one literary website of their choosing.

I enjoy sharing opinions and information about books with fellow members. However, I do not believe that it is an addiction, since many other activities routinely take preference.

Dustin Oh, for sure! The GR community is truly special. I've met and really gotten to know a lot of awesome people!

message 14: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (shelld79) I am definitely addicted to Goodreads. I check in every day and feel a bit lost if I'm too busy and don't get to log on and see what everyone else is doing or reading.

I would assume I'm addicted because I have been EXTREMELY depressed while I have been ill because of not being able to get on GR's. Missed you guys so much!
