Reading Envy Readers discussion

So typical reading envy, already thinking ahead to the next one before completing the first... but who has book ideas?

Just an idea - here's one I've been wanting to read for a while now and I think it would be fun to discuss with the group.

It has been on my TBR for a long time.

Good choices. It was hard to decide.

I voted. I've read Half of a Yellow Sun and liked it very much. I own The Golden Notebook and would be willing to read it if chosen. But I've been trying to catch up on my classics so I voted for Middlemarch. I absolutely hated The Goldfinch so I'm not willing to give her other book a chance - although I'd be interested to know if there were people out there that liked The Secret History but didn't like The Goldfinch.

I was really amazed at how many of my Goodreads friends who had not only read it, they had rated it five stars. There are a few that really hate it but it seemed overwhelmingly positive. I guess The Goldfinch was too, although that wasn't a huge win for me. If that one gets picked, we should definitely have that conversation.

I voted for The Secret History because it is one of my all time favorite books and I would love to revisit it with a group.

Amanda, just curious. Did you read "The Goldfinch"? Did you like that one?

I did like The Goldfinch but nowhere near as much as The Secret History. This would be my third read of TSH I would not consider reading The Goldfinch again.

I voted and I can't wait to see the results. Love readalongs.

My hold at the library came through so I did start reading it. So far I'm enjoying it better than The Goldfinch.

I've used the time in between to slam down a few swap books and review copies. :D

Somehow I missed all the announcements, but I'm keen to join in with this! I attempted The Secret History once before and have always meant to go back and try again. It will help to have the group read!
