Reading Night In discussion

Our first Reading Night will be held on Saturday, March 11 at 6pm to 9pm EST

We plan to hold some sprints, discuss our books, and relax. It's almost like a book sleepover but in the comfort of our own homes :)

Please spread the word about this event!!!!

How does this work exactly?

At 6 EST, we all start reading and throughout the 3 hours we'll chat about what we're reading and do sprints (which are where we focus on reading as much as we can in a given period, say 15 minutes). It is meant to be super casual and relaxing, so there is no set page goal or anything. You can read as much or little as you want.

I'm going to split my time between Radio Silence by Alice Oseman and Hyperbole and a Half by Alie Brosh. :)

So, what is your favorite beverage to drink whilst reading? I usually stick to coffee or water, but tea is good too!

I mostly do soda but sometimes sweet tea.

What kind of soda do you like? I am a fan of diet 7-Up and sometimes Pepsi.

I'm a Mountain Dew person. I just tried the Mountain Dew Kickstart and they taste pretty good.

I'll have to give that a try sometime. I don't drink Mountain Dew often, but I do like it.

That was my first time drinking the KickStart and it won't be my last.

I used to drink sprite all the time! It and Pepsi are my guilty pleasure for when I have low blood sugars haha.

What is everyones reading set up right now?

I'm sitting on my recliner and watching tv as I read

I usually sit in my recliner too, Nancy! haha. But, right now I'm in my room.

Are you watching anything while you read or listening to anything?

Not currently, but I might listen to some music in a bit. I've had All Time Low's Dirty Laundry in my head for the last few hours and listening to the song is always the best medicine for that. ;D

I'm at my desk. My dinner is ready. I'm gonna dish me up some and then go back to physically reading. (I've been listening to the audiobook)

How are you all liking your books so far?

Radio Silence is really good! I love Frances' narration, and how it's partially about fan culture. It's always nice to see social media (especially tumblr) and fandom people represented in a positive way. when so many people in real life are critical.

I'm enjoying my book. I have 50 pages left. Can't wait to see what happens

Time to join the group. I so far have been readingAnd the Mountains Echoed today. I am about half done with the book already. It is really good about life in Afghanistan. Its about how family takes on roles of responsibility for each other in time of need. Still reading though can't stop.
