Rowan (suilaidrowan) This is my humble list for 2017. All of them I've only picked up this year or late last year, except for Abarat, which I read in way back in highschool but did not remember much. My main focus will be the Sword of Truth series, which I've been meaning to read for a long time. Nearly finished #1.

Green Rider- 1/6
Sword of Truth: 1/17
The Queen of the Tearling: 2/3
Abarat: 2/4

haha.... yeaaaah. The number is intimidating but we'll see how far I can get by December... I am a fairly fast reader, but if it gets dumb (which I've read it does for some people) I'll probably cut it early :p

Aaron (zalejin) | 248 comments Ah man, I'm jealous. I can't cut a book or a series even if I'm not enjoying it, It's completionist in me. I have only ever stopped one book and that was back in 2007 haha. (And it was really really bad)

Problem with this means I end up slowing down if I don't enjoy the book :(

Rowan (suilaidrowan) I get it. If I'm not totally into a book it takes forever for me to finish. I know I'm into it when I read super fast haha.... gotta know what happens!

Which book was that?

We'll see how it goes. 17 is a lot of books, and if he does things that I just can't handle, I'll cut it. Right now we're doing pretty good. I find that when authors drag out the story for more than 3 books it can get a little painful... but it's all subjective. So many people love the series, so I'm just gonna be open to all the possibilities :D

Aaron (zalejin) | 248 comments Late reply - It was this book https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

The premise was interesting but once you set up a fictional setting to see which race is more dominate, and then immediately invalidate it by having the only other person on the island as one of the two races. not to mention for a true test you would pick the same sex... plus the writing was bad and it was pretty boring. The scores seem to agree with me haha.
