Hi all, I hope you all are well.

I plan to read the newly published Jane Austen and Philosophy (Great Authors and Philosophy) by Mimi Marinucci . I will start posting my thoughts on the essays in Part 1: Love and Marriage. If anyone gets interested and wants to join in also, we can work our way into the next section of essays, but not necessarily all sections. We will keep this very informal.

Let me know what you think everyone.

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) | 516 comments That book looks very interesting, SarahC! I just got a new one today (not yet available in the USA), Jane Austen, the Secret Radical. I hear not-such-good things about it, but it’s the assigned reading for my Jane Austen Book Club this month so I need to dive in right away. Maybe a little afterward I’d be able to join in your discussion.

I will be interested in hearing what you think of that book Abigail!

I love the idea of discussing scholarly coverage of Austen. Can't wait to hear about it!

Andrea AKA Catsos Person (catsosperson) | 169 comments I won't read the book, but others beside SarahC read it, I'd love to lurk and read the discussion.

Edit

I meant "but others in addition to SarahC."

I agree -- I love seeing new publications on the interpretations and impact of Jane. I was pleased to see this one on the shelf of Barnes and Noble in my town -- I don't mind giving them a shout-out for that either. "Local" appearances of Austen always make me happy. Abigail, thanks for giving us a notice of another good book to check out in future also.
