The Adult Book Club for the year has ended but as we roll into summer I know we will all be busy reading the titles that we've been wanting to pick up. The May book for discussion, "The Yellow Birds" was one that we all agreed we would not have chosen to read if it wasn't for Book Discussion. However, all who read it agreed that it was well written and engaging. A really good book to share thoughts with each other.

Many times it is a suggestion of an interesting book from different members of the group that moves other members to read it too and uexpectedly really enjoy it......or not! That is what makes for great book discussions!

The Book Group's Summer get-togethers will be light finger-food potlucks on the 4th Wednesday of the June, July and August. We will listen to suggestions from each other and make a possible list for the 2014-15 season. This is your chance to exchange ideas about what you would like to read just because you read an interesting review or share because you fell in love with an author or a book. All genres are valid and we like to include a good mix.

You can always make a suggestion right here, on our Good Reads page as well.

Julia (juliastrimer) | 0 comments Yay, Patty :-) I'm probably going to share the book I'm reading for the book club here in Chelsea that has Christy and Sandy in it. It's a non-fiction, and so far very engaging. A Higher Call: An Incredible True Story of Combat and Chivalry in the War-Torn Skies of World War II by Adam Makos.

Just a heads up for you and Shea as well. The Friends section of the library is here and is still in the wordpress format Heather chose: http://manchesterlibraryfriends.wordp... The last post is about WBN, and one earlier entry from March. I think you can just go ahead and post :-)

Nice job!
