Goodreads Sri Lanka happenings!

Welcome to New Members
I'll go first. I'm Amalie. I started this group so GRs members of Sri Lanka can join together at one place. I'm happy to see the growth of this group and to see so many others like me who just love reading.
I'm a solitary person and love being that way and so, I will rarely accept friend-invitations but I LOVE to have serious discussions. I'd like to do that here :)

I'm Zameer, I've been a member of goodreads sri lanka group for a long time but haven't introduced myself or been active here. I'm a technologist, introvert (god bless susan cain! :)), philosophical and of course I love reading - that's why I'm here I guess! Anything related to my field, interests or my reading, please do drop me a message, will discuss - I'd definitely in for a intellectual discussion. love you all!!

I'm Mufthaz, a private pilot by profession and an avid reader the rest of the time. Good to know about this group for the Lankans :)
I have been on GR for not too long. I'm relatively a new born to the world of reading, few months in and i'm hooked. Currently reading books by various authors (still too early to point out my favourites) but I have to admit, I wouldn't hesitate to start on a thriller any day of the year. Any recommendations are welcome, so I can add it to my long list of must reads!

Im Maryam. The main thing you need to know about me, I love reading any kinds of books, thrillers, fiction classics, anything. :) been reading since i was 9.
A little about myself, I am almost finished with my BCS(software engineering) Professional Graduate Dip and i work at a software developing company and teach part time. But let me tell you i always have time for reading. :)

Hi, Would recommend My Name is Red by Orhan Pamuk if you are interested in historical fiction. And also Istanbul by Orhan Pamuk which is a memoir.

ive been a GR member since i was 12 yrs old .i really love reading but to my sorrow im sacrificing most of my time for studies but sometimes i just stay past 3am just because i fell in love with a book.
im happy to be in this group and pls dont be shy to recommend good books.
adios

Bookaholic and I run an online bookstore too :)
Reader, Blogger, Reviewer, Harry Potter Fan and crazily a foodie, although that's not supposed to related in here..

I am Harshana Jayaratne. A student at Sri Lanka Law College.
New to GoodReads, not to reading. Fictions are the favourite.
Love to have your recommendations. And if you want me to comment on a book I have read, just ask! let's read GoodReads.
Cheers brothers and sisters!

Goodreads is a treasure. I have benefitted immensely from this site in selecting my next read. It is great to see a group of book lovers from Sri Lanka got together here. Hope we can build a good community.
I am Yash living in Colombo. Am mad of books. Always look for books which teach me what I have not known all these days. Yuval Noah Harari and Malcolm Gladwell are my favorite authors so far. Now I am reading Made to Stick by Heath brothers. It is a super read. I hardly find book buffs to discuss enthusiastically what I read. Hope that missing part would be filled up here. Will continue to stay in touch.
Cheers!

Simply love reading and books.
And I'm an A/L student who faces the exam 2019 in Math.
Hello, everyone. Welcome! I always check the treads. I am very much aware of what's happening in this group. Not commenting because of time issues.
Although, the book shelf only includes Sri Lankan fiction written in English, this group is not limited to these readers. In the future, I will do something for the readers of Tamil and Sinhalese book, so you will feel more comfortable.
Meanwhile you are all most welcome :)

I'm not limited to one genre, but I'm the fan of Paulo Coelho, Orhan Pamuk.
Happy to be in this group.

Would love to make friends with other book lovers and maybe start a book club?

I am Srimathie Weerasuriya. I write fiction in Sinhala and in English and got published four novels so far. I like Cat's idea of starting a
book club. Cat, how do you propose to do it? Love to hear from you.

Hello there Rebecca, sorry for the late welcome, but we are glad to have you (being young, new blood among the crusty oldies ;) )
Anyway hope you will enjoy being with us and Goodreads!
Cheers!

Hello Cat, it's abominably late for replying to you, sorry about that, but are you still up for starting a book club/ reading club? I myself favour reading the Fantasy genre, but do enjoy the occasional classics.
Hoping to hear what your thoughts are on this :)
Cheers!

Found this group while searching for any readers' clubs or groups in Sri Lanka.
Really happy to join you all.

I hope everyone in here knows about Pick-a-Book Club. By chance, if you haven't heard of them, search on Facebook. A very interesting community I'd say. Love to see all of you in there...
